On 12 April 2022, the Speaker of National Assembly (Republic of Namibia), Hon. Peter Katjavivi tabled the petition from CCG calling for referendum. The petition was referred to the Standing Committee of Constitutional and Legal Affairs to investigate (to conduct public hearings) and report back to parliament.
