    Is that James Shaw from Stanford? He was a dominant setter in college. Nice to see him transition to the beach

    It is. He was pursuing beach a couple years ago, got injured (ankle?) and I believe went back to indoor for a bit, and now is back on the beach.

    Why is the score going up to 28? Is that a local rule to play one set?

    Sometimes playoffs are one set to 28 since they’re faster than a match but more fair than one to 21. Used especially when you’re running out of daylight.

    They do it for all playoff matches. If they did 2 sets it would be dark by the end of playoffs

    @@1stSeedVolleyball In Chicago we just play 1 to 25 for the initial rounds of playoffs. Then semi's and the final are 21 21 15
