The drawings/O canada from 2;45 onwards I recall from touring holidays in Canada of some years ago when staying in hotels and motels with cable TV. I think that this was played at both the beginning and end of the broadcasting day. It captures the essence of Canada beautifully; for me a really nice holiday souvenir. Many Thanks!

I know this sounds weird, but I'm so happy to find this. I remember staying up way late (or waking up way early) and watching this, and this just brings back my childhood.

We had the exact same in French. It was magical to see this before cartoons!

On 2:26 time frame.

Always comforting seeing this after Hockey Night In Canada or various shows. Am from Seattle so we got CBUT and Canucks Games were always on Saturday Night love CBC and my Canucks.

I remember getting up early just to watch this on tv when it was still in use

Just bought rabbit ears and returned my Telus set top box. Why pay $100 a month for cable when the three channels you would ever watch are free over the air?

@@Tanzim-Kazi I saw *this* _O Canada_ film on a 1983 CKY sign off so that could have been when it was introduced; but it mostly appears in '90s sign offs.

@@JasonDelarosa2000 It may be the earliest instance of that animated O Canada film on a sign off, but I'm pretty sure it was made before 1983 probably first used on a CBC/SRC station.

@@JasonDelarosa2000 If that film was made before 1983, but I'm pretty sure the first station to use this film is the CBC/SRC station from Montreal (CBMT or CBFT), since Michael Mills Production is probably based in Quebec.
