Would be nice if the reporter did her research that "Dojo" is Japanese where Japanese martial arts are taught. Where as "武館" Mo Guan is Chinese, where Gung Fu, Chinese martial art forms are taught.

OMG! Don't you understand that people understand the word "Dojo" and won't understand "Mo Guan" or whatever!? So closed minded! Dojo made it into the dictionary, "Mo Guan" didn't!

I am going to train at the Chinese Restaurant. My favorite was Hop Lee's in Downtown Los Angeles Chinatown. Green Curry Crab and Black Pepper Scallops. Makes me want to get really fat!

Kung Fu is NOT DONE IN A "Dojo" ...Dojo is a Japanese word....used for Karate schools (Japanese) .....Not the Same art, Not the same language, Not the same looking. You tried...but ended up disrespecting many. Do your research.

Martial Arts in general in the U.S. have had dojo as an umbrella term. As a Shaolin Kung Fu practitioner, I know that they didn’t mean offense by it. Plus there’s different terms in Cantonese and Mandarin.

A good report. NYC has had a long, rich history of Chinese martial arts. Sadly, as insinuated in this clip, Kung Fu in NYC is on the decline. I hope that in some way Kung Fu will be preserved in the city. I look forward to the film that's being made.

The first and oldest existing kung fu school is called the Hung Sing Kwoon, teaching Hung Sing Choy Lee Fut. my elders have been teaching kung fu since the early 1920's. Our head quarters are in San Francisco. Almost 100 years old now. and still going.
