Lucille Ball's final appearance while she was still alive was on the tv game show "Super Password" in November 1988 alongside her friend Betty White. When she was 19 years old, she played opposite of "The Three Stooges" in the short "Three Little Pigskins." She also played a major role in the launch of "Star Trek" in 1966 on NBC.

Lucille Ball's death was the top story. This archival broadcast cuts off the first 3 minutes. They started with her death and then said "a look back at her career later in our broadcast."

This was the first major news story I remember. I had just turned four. I've been a fan ever since!

Lucy should have been the lead story. And the lotto thing is hilarious; I live near Albion and that's not surprising from their community 40 years ago at all.

It was - an announcement was made that a Lucy retrospective would take place "later in our broadcast."
