I've been on MMJ for over a year, and I can say it does bring down the blood pressure. My doctors want to know how, then when I say it's mmj, they want nothing to do with it. I went from high 140's, low 150's over 89. Now I'm 120 over 82. They can deny, but I've seen the improvement.

Thanks for sharing. By the way, CBG is only found in some strains, and typically high CBG strains would have low THC, because the pathway to produce THCA in the plant has been terminated at the precursor, CBGA.

It's a little more complicated than that. The number of drug interactions will be substantial. For example, someone on a non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker could experience heart block if they get the dose of cbg wrong the first time. Natural products aren't regulated, so the listed strength could be way off. The same manufacturer may produce highly variable products over time due to the lack of regulation. If someone, especially elderly, is taking a blood pressure medication that causes orthostatic hypotension, CBG could exaggerate that to a very unsafe level. I don't think anyone wants to find that out by falling and breaking a bone. If someone uses an alpha-2 agonist chronically and then stops abruptly it places them in danger of rebound hypertension and tachycardia . If they're on a beta blocker the unopposed alpha-1 sets the stage for a hypertensive emergency. So, my recommendation is in general to avoid CBG, but in a scenario where someone is not on any medications and is in good health, experimenting with the unregulated product is less worrisome. I get that. But without clinical trial evidence of a benefit, I don't see the value in taking something like cbg given the risk of side effects.

Symptoms vary from one human to the next however Hypotension exist in most cases both atypical and Young Onset. The convenient thing with CBG is that when used from a Tincture you can really control your dose. I’ve used Cannabis for Parkinson’s going on 2 decades now because I have total control of my meds, my dosages and can switch Strains and Cannabinoids when needed WITHOUT terrible pharmaceutical withdrawals. In fact, the first-line treatment for blood pressure (after lifestyle modifications have been tried) is a very inexpensive medication called hydrochlorothiazide, which is prescription only. It might be the cheapest medication out there. There are also many alternatives that are not very expensive. Talk to your physician, the sooner the better.

Hi. First, that's not terrible blood pressure, but it is not ideal either. Who measured it, and on how many occasions? There is certainly some evidence now in humans suggesting that CBD can lower blood pressure. There is also evidence that it can increase the caffeine concentration in coffee drinkers, so I imagine the blood pressure effect will depend on what else you are consuming. CBD is not approved for treating hypertension, so technically it cannot be marketed for this. Be sure you are getting it from a reputable source that has independent lab testing done and reported.

I am not sure about the evidence for effectiveness in psoriasis, but whether it reaches the blood when applied topically is really still an unanswered question. I would guess that it does reach the blood to some extent. We don't know how much would be safe topically at this point. If it were me I might try a small area and measure my blood pressure over the next 24 hours before gradually increasing the application area. Again, anything you do is a new frontier, and it's impossible to know the safe dosage range. Anecdotally, I have seen Aveeno work for psoriasis if used consistently. Not sure if that's going to work for everyone, but can't hurt to try.

Hi! The problem is we don't know because it hasn't been tested in humans. If it does lower blood pressure we don't know how much, and if it indeed acts like clonidine, discontinuing the CBG could lead to high blood pressure (rebound hypertension). Your best bet is if you're going to use it start low and measure you blood pressure several times a day, only increasing dose once you know your bp is in the normal range. All of my advice doesn't change the fact that this is not an approved drug, and we don't know enough about it to safely recommend dose and frequency of use.
