CBD in Skincare, Explained | Dermatologist Opinion

CBD is advertised for so many medical conditions each day - anxiety, sleep difficulties, depression, joint pains. We're also increasingly seeing it used as a cream/oil for skin conditions like acne, eczema and psoriasis. But does it actually work and do I recommend you using it?

Thank you! I’ve never heard the stratum corneum explained so clearly- I get it! Literally lol’d on the formidable wall line. I have been replacing products with ones *I believe* are evidence-based (another great line re spending $) but it’s difficult to see through marketing, “medical-grade” and otherwise. I’m excited about your channel! Thank you for the info and the clear presentation.

Anecdotally it works so that’s good for me and don’t need the studies as often the CBD they use has been altered and changed far away from what nature intended.

😉I recently moved to the border of Massachusetts in the U.S. 🇺🇲 where canabis is legal and I'm loving all the fun stuff I found. I've used CBD and liked it better than the THC. You really need to experiment with dosages. Even a tiny amount of THC will make you hungry and then you cant sleep because you want ro eat EVERYTHING in your house.🤣

Hi Doctor, thanks for the informative video. When are you releasing your next one? Do you have any thoughts on cbd for anxiety/stress? (1) does it have any effect, (2) are there any risks in trying, and (3) can it be addictive/can you become dependent?

Thanks for your question! It’s going to be posted in an hour! CBD for anxiety/stress actually doesn’t have a great evidence base established as yet, so 1) it likely has a very very small effect if any at all at the kind of 15-30mg doses given in the typical CBD gummies/ lollipops etc. 2) no risks in trying it! Very very safe at those doses too, but of course it’s important to make sure you get it from a reputable company to make sure it truly is just CBD and not THC mixed in! It’s a very unregulated industry 3) once again, if it’s truly just CBD, it has no physiological addiction/dependence risk, except what may become behavioural! Kind of like I’m addicted to Call of Duty...
