Wow what a stunning and vibrant part of the world! I loved the coconut carvings. Good for you Stew, travelling as much as you can, whilst you can. So many memories. Thanks for sharing with us.

Visited Caye Caulker and San Ignacio about 15 years ago and fell in love with Belize. Highly suggest going inland and checking out a cave spelunking tour. Trust me🤙🏼 Have fun man

Ian Andersons Cave Branch river resort does that, and there are a couple cenotes nearby

Stu, the one that I can recommend is about 25 km from the capital city of Belmopan, which is about a 2 hr bus ride from Belize CIty. We stayed at a place called Ian Andersons Cave Branch, in the middle of the jungle, but there are probably lots of lower cost options nearby. From Ian Andersons, within a 1 mile walk, there is a great cenote where you can jump in, swing on ropes, etc. If you have an extra day or a few its worth venturing out there. Now, the reason that we stayed at Ian Andersons is because they offer tubing through caves in the dark, and they also do ruin tours, and tours underground. Google his place and they can start your research of the area. I hope that I am contributing to your journey, and that if you do make it there, I get an "Easy People ..." One other really great place to check out is Placentia which is the very south of Belize, when we went there, we could get lobster burritos for $2-3, but I imagine a lot more expensive now. Nonetheless, this is the center of the Garifuna culture (a mix of local indians and black slaves), so the cuisine is good. All the best, safe travels! @@the_l0cksm1th

I’m off to Caulker next week, I went there in the late 70s when I was about your age, and revisiting my youth. Tell me, are most prices quoted in Belize $ or US? It was one of my dislikes last time I visited San Pedro
