U wouldn’t catch me spelunking ever, but more power to you! Takes a different breed to do that kind of adventure in the under-dark 😱 thanks for the lesson still

I've been running some RIT900 6.8 mm rope, might be a good way to lighten up since it was a contingency load. Some good 9.5mm ropes out there too that would be easier to work with and more confidence inspiring (6.8 is edging a bit).

Never go caving with rope less than 11mm, your asking to die

I show people videos like these to demonstrate what tacticool looks like

I'm active duty military... I use the gear I have. I'm not going to spend money on specific gear that realistically does the same thing it just looks different.

@@PreparedAirman tacticool is a mindset too, and it marries nicely to those who call themselves preppers. I audibly laughed at the harness and rope "just in case."

@@PreparedAirman what is your scenario and method of rescue for using a harness and rope? Enlighten me, because I don't see enough material there to self rescue if a harness is warranted.

@SpareTimeShow I'm always with another person. I don't recall mentioning "self rescue". Then again, the video is several years old and I don't remember everything that I filmed.

Great Video - 1st thanks for keep your channel clean, I can watch your videos with my kids, which is something I can't say for many other channels, Many channels I just have to click off because I don't like hearing a bunch of cussing, so thanks again. - 2nd I do the road flares and I also throw in some Chem-lights/Glow sticks - light weight and last for hours.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the content. I'm a father myself and I like to put certain moral and verbal limits on my channel. I strive to remain educational and entertaining.

Im a underground miner by occupation. I strongly advise folks to stay away from caves. If you insist on going anyway you seriously need to have an air test/monitoring equipment along. Lighting a flare may not be a smart idea because underground there can be elevated levels of methane or maybe youll have too much carbon monoxide or insufficient oxygen levels. Until you can moniter the air matrix stay out. This is the big one that angers me to high heaven.

It's a public accessible cave that is fairly popular where I live. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pKV528FseZmreqw.html

Nah, you're either scaremongering or you just don't know any better . The vast majority of limestone caves around the world have zero issues with gases, and they cannot be compared to mines which are totally different. Obviously there are exceptions (i.e, gas buildup in passages with vegetation infiltration, H2S trapped in mud, or CO2 in airbells), but for 99% of caving regions & 99% of people going down caves, gas detectors aren't something we'd ever bother to carry. Caving gets a bad reputation from these sort of daft comments.
