How to fix P2198 Code: O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rich (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
A rich condition is when the air/fuel ratio mixture is off, with more fuel than air going into the cylinders.
If there is a rich condition, it can be difficult to troubleshoot since it can be caused by many different things.
Possible Causes of a P2198 Code:
Bad Bank-2 Sensor-1 O2 Sensor
O2 Sensor Wiring (Open/Short)
The Engine is Running Rich
Bad Purge Valve Stuck Open (Very Common with Ford Vehicles)
Too Much Fuel on Bank-2 (Bad injector, Excessive Fuel Pressure, Bad Sensor)
Airflow Blocked (Dirty Air filter, Obstruction, Bad Sensor)

I’m getting a p2198 and p0191. Fuel sensor, fuel pump, and fuel pump driver module have all been replaced. My purge valve is working as intended. I checked fuses and they all looked fine. Truck is an ‘07 F150. The truck runs fine when cold, but stalls, dies, and idles rough once it’s warm. For this reason, I doubt it’s the fuel pump itself. Any ideas?

@@Nelval573 My buddy suspected that the truck was actually running lean despite the 2198 code. He said the engine smelled hot. I put paper clips into the wiring harness that attaches to the fuel pump driver module, and it ran fine, despite actually running very rich since the fuel pump was going 100%. But that eliminates the pump. I’m guessing the fuel pump driver module that was replaced was a pos aftermarket. Ordered another one.
