This is one of those sermons that you need to go deeper into, without becoming to depressing. People don't want to be discouraged, but the times we are living in, make it almost impossible not to be. This was so timely.

Well it has been said that the Lord works in mysterious ways. So last night I was feeling a little low and it had been an all to familiar feeling and I decided to have a community of online Adventist help me out with prayer. So I went online and requested prayer to help me out with my mind because I have been so very FRUSTRATED 😞 fast forward to this morning. I get up to my usual routine and when i get online to watch my morning devotional with Tlla (from 365 amazing answers to big Bible questions by: You.) There was a video at the top of the que ahead of his it was this video about discouragement. So I thank God for the answers. I also Thank God for his faithful servant, Doug Batchelor (that's you btw lol 😆.) And I wanna thank you as well. You and your ministry have been a huge blessing while I have been studying the word of God. You have been a great help in understanding the layers and intricacies of it that had eluded me in understanding. I KNOW more now because of your ministry. Before I was guessing at alot. Some things I was correct on but not sure why. Well I know why now. And the rest , I was just wrong about. But I am reading praying and learning about the rest. And sharing what I learn along the way to perpetuate the faith and lead souls to Christ. So again much appreciation pastor Doug and may God continue to bless you and your family and ministry.

Oh, I've been discouraged, in fact I live with it, it's my constant companion. Every time I try to get up off my knees I get knocked back down BUT if you claim to serve Jesus the devil is comin' atcha! He'll hit you below the belt EVERY time too with each blow. When he sees that you keep worshipping God he'll come at you even worse until he sees it's futile and goes to pick on someone else but make no mistake, he'll be back....Jesus said, "He who wants to follow me must pick up his cross and follow" I don't think Jesus said that verbatim but He did say something like this. That means He promises NO rose garden. It's gonna be tough and NOT what we would choose but there's something good waiting for us on the other side......

I have become numb to sin. I get discouraged because I cant comprehened the gravity of my sin which is death. I always tell myself, "I have willfully sinned guess I will try again tomorrow." but time is running out and I dont know when it will be too late. But I will rise up and take God's word for it. Pray for me brothers so that my faith grows. I want to be found again and carry my cross.

Rob Clayton, You need Jesus we are to love each other and encourage each other. We are all in this battle of life we all have to face the good,bad and most of all we have a battle for our lives each day. The enemy of our souls. To all my Br and Sister let’s look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, The best is yet to come Jesus our Lord and Savior. He gave us all the promises in His words. John 14: 27. Read the psalms. Claim them and look to Jesus He’s has promised He will never leave us neither forsake us. Look to Jesus and live, we all will have to go through trials and difficulties but Jesus is there to carry us through it all. Read a His words and keep praying. You will have the victory. Am I saying it’s easy NO but Jesus will be with you.

Sevgi Sezen Ellen White said God cast Israel away,but God said He didn’t,Jeremiah 31:35-37.Yall were told by God not to judge people going to church on Sunday,Rom14:5-13,but you disobey and do it anyway 😈. @@clintwalker6389 First at all, you mixed up so many things which are not true. As I see, you didn't study by your own but trusted other people. Second, as you didn't study much, your statements can be false and anybody who listens you, can turn a ways their faces from God, so be very careful of what you're saying/typing etc ... Plus , you should know that God's church is not an sda or Baptist or whatever church, it's a God's sealed people, who OBEY His law and accept Him as a Savior, and had been born again. If you know what is being born again, you could understand it but if you dont, I have nothing to tell you. As Jesus taught his disciples, when they asked why He teaches in parables? What did He say ? That this teachings are for them, His disciples (coding language), but not for others. The key is Holy Spirit and if you have this key, you'll understand those things which you're having troubles with, but if you dont, I won't explain you those. And STOP saying something which you dont know for sure. What's written above by you, many of them are false statements !!!

I’m right there with you bro, I’ve been done wrong by my wife, she just took the car and may take my son, after I literally helped her when I didn’t have to. I made a foolish mistake. But the Lord hasn’t forgot about me or you man. Look, God even brought us together to lift eachother up! I don’t know how God is gonna do it, but He will see us through brother! Yes eating always solves my discouragement problems but now I have overweight problems so I get discouraged and eat some more food.

Don't use food to be a source of reliance when being discouraged, but go to the Everlasting Father who will encourage, who will uplift, and who will be with you through the hard times.

My discouragement is for the little babies, children, and people who suffer. There are so many animals abused. It’s hard to not be sad for so many bad things that happen.

Thank you for this Sermon. It was surely meant for me. Every word preached directly spoke to my inner being.

@@EricSaavy I hear what your saying, but remember, scripture CLEARLY SAYS that people will say to The Most High, didnt I do this in your Name, didnt I do that and what does it say The Lord will say? DEPART FROM ME, for I DO NOT KNOW YOU. Father God sees the heart of EVERY MAN, so He ALONE is the rightful judge. I used to go to church on a Sunday and NO ONE couldn't trll me about the Sabbath, until The Most High Himself revealed that truth to me. Im DEFINITELY still got a long way to go, but now I know the SDA truth, there is no way that I can disregard it again. I still have questions, one of which is speaking in tongues, something I once did, but Im not gonna let small trivial things, make me overlook the bigger picture. Dont watch anyone Robt, just keep your eyes on The King and that way, WE CAN'T GO WRONG. Let Father God deal with those FAKE SDA and Christians in general, time is too short to waste time with certain things, when we need to go out and make fisherman, of men...for The. 👑 🙂🙏🏿❤

I truly feel the power of the Spirit and your faith in God throughout this discussion about discouragement. I love how you continually site scriptures as references. I’ve been praying and reaching out for help to understand how to get through a particular trial that has weighed me down for several years. Sometimes the Lord doesn’t answer our prayers immediately but allows us to search and grow closer to Him as we seek to understand. Through this talk, I received answers, and my heart is full of gratitude. The message you shared here is inspiring and full of hope, reaching through the clouded darkness of my thoughts and filling my heart with joy and hope. Single mom pray for tern son who don't listen and disrespectful..feeling discouraged

I am writing because I have no where else to turn. Ive been following pastor Doug for years now. I know you can't offer info for those in desperate need. I guess I just need to make sense of this nightmare I continue to live thru, to ashamed to tell my family. 6 months ago a man had me move in,, told me he loved me, promised me a care giver job that never happened. I eas in recovery as an addict and am doing great, but he scrutinizes me every chance he gets. 2 months ago, he mibed all my stuff out the bedroom and put me on a couch in tje spare room, cuz he met a girl on line. When she screwed him over he wanyes me to take care of him and how nive he was, even tho I never said I was going back to him.and. He helped pay my way thru schooling, and for weeks he pretended we were again together.. Then he met someone else. And again i am tossed to the side, forced to go outside thru front on house to use toilet wa sso nice and giving, to be treated like this is so inhumane ro me. I feel so betrayed. Pls pray for me, that I never get so low where looking up is all that's left, with no hope. Please Lord give me hope. Ty I just needed to get it out

I moved to Ga. not by choice, found good job that I excelled at and was fired for not being Caucasian, started driving lost apt. Been living in a motel paying over 25k mos. for all bills. Then (3¾yrs of driving rideshare, was hit by a19y.o. in a luxury SUV that totaled my car. Now I'm workout income or car and very discouraged I've been praying for strength because the DEVIL has been coming hard every day! I KNOW Jesus blood protects me and truly want my faith to grow DESPITE these CONSTANT disappointments and loss. This was very received.

Stevie J another seventh day Adventist not resting or keeping the sabbath.There are many people who keep a Saturday sabbath and don’t belong to a church founded by a proven false prophetess, Ellen G White who said Jerusalem would never be built again but as you can see it was. We All must remember God has already been to our tomorrow, He has already given us a path to follow. So we must pray that the Spirit open our eyes to pray, listen and follow. He tells us in Ephesians 5:20, "Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ". That includes the storms.

Robt Clayton, too bad you fail to recognize that the SDA Church - God’s end time remnant church which was prophesied to “keep the commandments of God and have the testimony...and the faith of Jesus” - passes through the era of Laodicean in which it’s wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked and in need of gold, white garments, and eyesalve. Too bad you judge the truth as so or not by how poorly people practice it. As for those of you outside the remnant: “Come out of (Babylon), My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins and receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4 KJV

The personality types that Pastor Doug took from was a book called "Wired that Way" if anybody is interested in learning more about their personality as well as other people :)

Ann Lotz speaks of welcoming the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in your life. My discouragement immediately vanished when I did this.

Exort and praise everyone don't doscourage them help and praise them all the time do not give up on them as we are fighting for souls for our father in heaven through our lord Jesus Christ keep the faith and praise each other and Jesus for each defeat of the devil amen glory to the lord forever and ever amen

Don't be discouraged keep fighting the good fight run the race keep your faith believe in Jesus and we will win don't give the devil the satisfaction he has already lost he's desperate and will try anything too get us to go our own ways and not follow Jesus but we must not listen he's a defeated foe keep the faith don't give up amen

What about feeling discouraged or doomed to unhappiness because you feel forced (by the word of God, friends, relatives) to remain in a situation which you utterly hate? Of course on my part the issue is being unable to forgive. I'm not sure if I'm unwilling but I have struggled with this issue for years, knowing the great benefits of forgiveness. I'm at the point where I feel consumed by unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, regret and now discouragement has crept in. All this after years of trying to hold on to the Word; trying to trust God etc. I'm at the point where I'm now forcing myself to read or listen to the word of God; where God seems to be the lesser evil because I am convinced God could do more but He has allowed much wickedness to happen to me. I feel like He is barely keeping me alive so that the suffering and heartache could continue.

He will take away your unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, regret, and discouragement. He did it for me! One thing that's hard for us as thinking human beings is we tend to automatically try to figure out HOW God will deliver us. It's ok, He will deliver you in a way that will pleasantly surprise you. Ask Him to prove His love for you again and again because you NEED it. Ask Him to save and deliver your mind. Ask Him to take control of your thoughts, your heart, your desires, to take your burdens. Tell Him you cannot give Him your heart, so you need Him to take it, to do everything for you! To give you a new heart. Tell Him there's no one else you can turn to besides Him, no one who will understand. Tell Him you are upset at Him because of the wickedness that He has allowed to happen to you, from your perspective. He already knows your heart and your thoughts anyway. God will save you. Rest in His love, rest in His love. Do not try to think. Rest in His love and pray continually, beg Him to help you! God bless you!

we have the choice in following Jesus or the devil. Jesus didn’t say it would be easy. look at the life of Jesus. we must go to God right now. its easy to get discouraged because of these difficult feelings and trying to pin it all on God but He does promise to never forsake us. choosing to follow Jesus also means constantly being attacked by the devil and that’s why we must cling on to God. these questions you ask is the same as asking “why does God allow pain”. well we live in a sinful world but it’s not going to be like that forever.

It is interesting how pastors talk about things they don't know. Seminary don't teach those things. I was talking to a professional, well educated Christian counselor and she said that she needs to fix the damage pastors do talking about things they don't really know how to handle. That reminds me Job's friends. They didn't know but they kept trying to find a problem. I would compare many pastors and ministries to the doctors that were treating the woman with blood problems. They just want to sell books but never solve any problem. We have a powerless church. We hear Him and carry His love inside and upon our flesh. Him in us, us in Him. To keep the Law of our Lord and the Testimony of His Son shows we are the children of God. Are you a stone off the old block? A child of God? Do you do as you see your Father do? Do you love Jesus enough to keep His words as He kept His Father's? He comes in secret to gather His own, are you one of them? If so put on Jesus!

@@tonieschumann5159 I think it would be helpful to read repeatedly the Old Testament account of the sanctuary service and compare it to the SDA doctrine of the sanctuary service in order to understand the SDA doctrine on the investigative judgment. God controls all of the sanctuary service, Satan does not. The specific part of the SDA sanctuary Investigative Judgment doctrine that you refer to is that Satan will still pay the wages of sin (which is death), Romans 6:23, for what he has done as the original source of ALL sin. The scapegoat and the lamb serve two different purposes in the sanctuary service in the Old Testament. Satan legally has rights to control everyone who sins and is NOT covered by the blood of Jesus, because he is the originator of all sin. Those who are covered by the blood of Jesus can claim that Satan has no legal authority over them. They are children of God by redemption by the blood of Jesus, and the sacrifice of Christ brings them back into full reunion/at-one-ment/atonement with God. The people who end up in hell will be paying for their own sins, because they did not accept the payment that Jesus made for them. In hell, Satan will be paying the death penalty for his own sins and the sins that he caused God's people to commit. Satan the scapegoat in the heavenly sanctuary service is not killed as a sinless atoning sacrifice for sins. Who do you think is the scapegoat in the sanctuary account in the Old Testament? (As an aside, since you mentioned an 'eternal soul' we do not at all teach that the soul is automatically eternal. Eternal life is a gift from God (Romans 6:23). The soul that sins shall die. (Ezek. 18:20) We teach that there are two deaths, the first being a type of sleep (John 11:13-14, 1 Thess. 4:13-18) and the second being annihilation/an end to existence with no hope of resurrection (Rev 20:6). Some teachers and preachers do not make this clear, but essentially the teaching of Christ's death on the cross is that He experienced the second death but it had no power over Him, He overcame it because He was sinless (Isaiah 25:8, 1 Cor. 15:51-58). Everyone is subject to the first death (Hebrews 9:27). Those who are saved will never die the second death (Rev 20:6). Those who are lost will experience the second death. We also do not teach an eternally burning hell that never ends.)
