Caught in the Act : Catching Che Guevara (Cuba and the CIA)
When Che Guevara left Cuba in 1965 to spread the doctrine of Communism, the United States took notice. As a key thinker and actor in the Cuban Revolution, his plans to inspire insurgency and defeat capitalism on a global scale were viewed as deeply threatening.
He was unsuccessful in Africa, but when he headed to Latin America, the U.S. decided to act. Vince Houghton, Spy Museum curator and historian, explains how the CIA used covert action, paramilitary forces, and Cuban exiles to hunt down Guevara and the implications of this operation.

Che (/tʃeɪ/; Spanish: [tʃe]; Portuguese: tchê [ˈtʃe]; Valencian: xe [ˈtʃe]) is an interjection commonly used in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) and Valencia (Spain), signifying "hey!", "fellow", "guy". Che is mainly used as a vocative to call someone's attention (akin to "mate" or "buddy" in English), but it is often used as filler too (akin to "right" or "so" in English). The Argentine revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara earned his nickname from his frequent use of the expression, which was perceived as foreign by his Cuban comrades.[

Watch a different video if you want to learn about Che. I have no idea why this video has so many positive reviews. The entire presentation is thick with bias. It completely blows past the USA's policy in South America to assisinate political leaders- including those fairly and democratically elected- for the purpose of furthering their own power and influence in the region. And this man's suggestion that had Che "known the whole picture" about how "good" the American/capitalist system was, Che would not have clung to communism is narrow sighted ad disingenuous. Because he is completely ignoring the very real damage that was done to further the USA's hegemony across Latin America. His cavalier and self important attitude diminishes his presentation and calls into question the entire narrative. This was an amazing recap of Ernesto Guevara. I had read a lot about Che and his cold-blooded nature of destruction. There's an old saying in the game of soldiering. The state of mind should never be confused with the state of the body. I've seen many very strong, tough men breakdown and quit schools. I've seen them shy away from facing their fears. I had an Airborne instructor that taught me the saying, "If you don't mind, it don't matter." Sounds like Che lived his entire life afraid, angry, and his fight side was constantly engaged. That is the most dangerous type of man. One that is not only highly intelligent, but also scared. A scared man/animal is completely unpredictable. You add that high IQ & EQ that Che held, and you have the makings of an almost unstoppable force. I'd argue it was an unstoppable force only proved correct by the fact there is actually a Che website and a USMA West Point graduate with "Communism Will Win" inside his cover and a Che shirt on during his graduation. Communism may win out, but it will never be the kind of pure Communist/Marxist idea that Lenin originated in practice. It will be the ugly 20th Century version whereby millions die. Unfortunately, for us all, it may be hundreds of millions or even billions in the 21st Century. We as a species have learned the most proficient of ways to annihilate one another, shameful as that is.
