This movie made me feel something I have never felt before, yet it was so familiar. The cinematography was stunning, acting, lighting, vibe all stunning. This theme for me at least is by far the most powerful, the way it is dreamy yet tragic portrays the overall theme of the movie. I'm so glad to see Holy Wood still has the potential to produce such a cinematic master piece. All I can say is wow...

Honestly i started crying when they showed the orphan kid and how Batman stared him sadly and then that song kicked in.... Man! ''Something in the way'' actually meant our ''traumas'' and i immediately connected my own past and traumas when i first see this scene because something bad also happened to me when i was young, not similar but something else akin. That scene will always eternal for me, it was showing how our traumas can shape us and put an mental obstacle in our minds that we can never truly forget. ''Something in the way'' for Batman was his past. His past was always behind him, following him through, shaping him. And how life created this loop of suffering in the city of Arkham, whatever he did, there will be an another orphan that he couldn't save.... So he will stay for the Gotham city and try his best while his truama giving him strength. But as others also pointed out, near at the end that song took an hopeful context with Batman's quote abour how our scars (traumas) shape us and create hope and make us stronger. Great song choice from Nirvana and great edit with fitting shots. It was a big magical cathartic moment for me. I was having a bad week and a overall bad life, but that scene made me shed some tears... This is what ''art'' means, to make the receiver experience some sort of catharsis and validation and understanding, that you realize you are not ALONE, that there are other people who went through similar things.

@@Dale_Blackburn I'm pretty young and I have not gone through as much as others in my life; however, I still can identify with the feeling of relating to a movie and your own issues and frustrations (especially certain songs do that for me). What I really appreciate about your comment is that you recognize true art and when a movie is more than entertainment, like I said, your comment is very profound but I can't exactly say I truly understand the deeper meaning or the exact feeling of what your saying but I think that is the beauty of movies and cinema (done right) it means different things to different people. And I'm sure for some movies and shows are purely for entertainment but for me (and it sounds like you) movies are like any art, they are self expression, and a way of relating to people your feelings. We don't know each other from Adam but we recognize art and that brings us together. I could literally write an essay on how amazing this movie is! Also I think your thoughts on the music choice and how you interpreted it was very profound.

@@anthonyzuzolo3528 Thank you for your reply and i agree with you overall. Well any movie has a degree of "art" in it if they have a conflict and resolution within the structure of some sense. And about the music choice, i thought that was obvious for everyone, i guess everyone feels the same but describing it with words are not for everyone maybe? "Something in the way" means an obstacle, i think everyone who listens or hears the term reads that way. A symbol for struggle (something, changes for everyone, traumas, problems, sickness.) in life (way) That is exactly why they play the song while Bruce rides his motorcyle. He rides on his "way" although the road is physically clear and he is free to ride on his way, his mind and spirit is not clear and free because of his trauma (something) and that he saw himself while looking at that now orphan child :) His past, keeps him caged like a slave spiritually, that's why he has that profound anger. I guess it is common sense and easy to read that scene this way, am i wrong? And around the end, he changes and understands that rage wasn't the answer, but hope and leadership is. His scars (something in the way) turns into power and redemption for him. So he basically uses his Jungian shadow self (Batman persona, suit) to canalize it to help others instead of vengence, that way he finds somewhat peace. It is kinda dreamy and liminal

This song captures the essence of Catwoman: femme fetale, nocturnal thief, sharp minded, and independent. The Irene Adler to Batman’s Sherlock Holmes. It’s as if The Godfather’s theme were remixed for a Tim Burton movie; as if soap opera were mixed with gothic jazz.

Exactly, but there’s also a deep sadness to it, and I think that’s where the connection between her and Pattinson’s Batman is first bridged. They both lost everything because of the sickness at the heart of the city, and they can relate to each other instantly. The music conveys that beautifully.
