Catrinas - De La Cruz Family - Capula Mexico

This is the story of the iconic clay Catrina made by hand in Michoacán, Mexico, by the De La Cruz family. These are very delicate clay figures made entirely by hand that bring to life Dia de los Muertos. Learn how this tradition got started in the small town of Capula in the state of Michoacán. Alvaro De La Cruz learned how to make them from artist Juan Torres. Juan Torres took the image that Diego Rivera created in one of his famous murals.
