So glad I found CVT. Now that I've seen the founder I like it even more.

"Sadolin says high C and sings an E-flat! Great technique!" Pretty silly comment. She was just demonstrating a sound. Also only male opera singers would do a high C in edge, and female voices tend to be higher by much less than an octave. So technique wise it's pretty comparable except she didn't use darker sound color.

Why does she in her new book changed the open throat for twanging in her 3 basic principles?. Isn't open throat necessary anymore?

+gear dave The term open throat is not changed into twang. These are two different things. "Open Throat" is just an image for singing without uncontrolled constrictions, which is gained by using support and obeying the rules of the modes. @@videosfromCVI that's a bit confusing then...my old cvt book enumerates the 3 principles as: 1, open throat; 2, support; 3, avoid muscular tensions in the jaws and lips. The app however calls the 3 overall principals: support, necessary twang and avoid protruding the jam and tightening the lips Why isn't the throat mentioned anymore?

@@sil3418 because research has shown that the throat isn't really open for most singing. Even if you look at the laryngoscopy of a masterful tenor high c, you can see lots of controlled (!) constriction above the vocal folds that amplifies the sound energy, even though it feels and sounds very "open" :)

Well that interviewer was very skeptical...

But her voice was destroyed... :)

She never said she was going to sing a high C. She said that the opera tenors sing a high C. There's a difference. She demonstrated the technique, not the pitch.
