I've worked in nursing homes and cared for many elderly people. Catherine Tate has more than the voice, but the way she walks, the tight limbs, arched back, fidgets with things slowly ... it's really brilliant to watch because it seems so comfortable with her. I've never seen anyone do it better and she's hilarious.

My Nana, who never said a 'bad word' her whole life, began showing signs of dementia towards the end of her days....she went total Catherine Tait on the world, and it was the cutest thing ever. We loved her even more for it...but those poor nurses. Thankfully they have a sense of humor too lol. Hearing my Nana call my Mom "that wicked slut from down the road always trying to steal my husband" was just amazing. Sad, but we tried to keep our sense of humor around it and just make sure she felt safe. While trying not to laugh out loud for real. :D

Catherine based Nan on a lady from a nursing home she saw once when she was part of a group that went around care homes providing entertainment, songs, acting out pieces etc. She said the woman used this type of language 😆. My Nana was in care with dementia, she knew who we were thankfully and never swore, but some in the home used to get up and swear at us visitors. One lady looked meek and frail in her chair, I went to read a magazine and she rose from the chair effing at me I got scared and ran off 😳😅. Nan is a funny character and just like some of the very senior people I have seen in care homes through a job and family being in care.

that pause before she says 'fucking' is brilliant comic timing as well :D
My Nana, who never said a 'bad word' her whole life, began showing signs of dementia towards the end of her days....she went total Catherine Tait on the world, and it was the cutest thing ever. We loved her even more for it...but those poor nurses. Thankfully they have a sense of humor too lol. Hearing my Nana call my Mom "that wicked slut from down the road always trying to steal my husband" was just amazing. Sad, but we tried to keep our sense of humor around it and just make sure she felt safe. While trying not to laugh out loud for real. :D

All Catherine Tate's characters are incredible, but Nan is the one that is a masterpiece!. CT disappears completely into the role. Utterly amazing!!

I love Nan. Lauren's a legend, too.
Nan's just saying what all of us are thinking . This show is Hilarious 😂😂😂 I'm from Australia 🦘 I love it when the English use slang words
Don't know if Catherine Tate is an Eastender but she's nailed it ... not just the accent but the hilarious Sarcasm and comparisons.

The leg spread cracks me up 🤣
I'm a community carer, Catherine Tate nails it . She reminds of my Nanna Mc, she passed away 2008, miss her loads and my mum xxxx
She plays this character so well.
"Hup" then you know it's coming 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍priceless love her cackle

I love the way she acts all innocent and then as the conversation furthers she spills all and swears like crazy! My grandmothers passed when I was really little but I bet you they would have been like this..it’s sort of endearing in a way 😅
Everyone needs a nan like this

Catherine Tate is a natural in the role as Nan, she is such a talented person. I know people just like Nan and she has it spot on
Catherine Tate such a good actress love her show & I wish she can return to Doctor Who that’ll be awesome ❤️
'I don't know no Jean' Course you do, Jean Baker, you went to school with her mother... 'Oh yes, she called Jean?' LOL
this was my grans favorite and self confessed alter ego. and I was the unfortunate frustrated grandson. it is so close to the truth it makes me cry with laughter. I will miss her.
The end of the second sketch was my nan too a tee. I loved her dearly, but she was just like that... Around strangers she acted like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, but when we were alone she was complaining about everything to me, including what I'd done wrong. xD
“What a fucking Liberty” 😂😂😂 the way she says it
Cathrine Tate is so underrated. Don’t get me wrong She does a lot that does not work out in my opinion. But when a sketch works well for her she knocks it completely out of the park. I would easily say my favourite woman comedian. But when your the doctors companion gives you a slight advantage lol.
The way she says Eating Disorder kills me everytime 😂🤣
I'm so going to end up like her when I'm old!

I have had the cackle down to a T since my 30s
Catherine based Nan on a lady from a nursing home she saw once when she was part of a group that went around care homes providing entertainment, songs, acting out pieces etc. She said the woman used this type of language 😆. My Nana was in care with dementia, she knew who we were thankfully and never swore, but some in the home used to get up and swear at us visitors. One lady looked meek and frail in her chair, I went to read a magazine and she rose from the chair effing at me I got scared and ran off 😳😅. Nan is a funny character and just like some of the very senior people I have seen in care homes through a job and family being in care.
The way she described council servicemen was spot on. 😂

Brilliant this character is - and whoever does the make-up it's amazing the way they make Catherine look so old. The language that comes out of her mouth - my goodness!
I wish Cathrine Tate would do a factory shop floor. Workers swear like hell but only at others they LIKE. The more the swearing the stronger the friendship.
Hilarious!!! Thanks for posting these; the first one is my all-time-favorite Nan skit, and I haven't been able to find it till now. Thanks!!!

Such a great character and brilliantly acted by Tate!
My late nan was like her, you made her angry she turned into a right dragon but she had a heart of gold and had such a caring nature. She had a wonderful sense of humour even when she fell very sick with her cancer but I would not have wanted her any other way. She loved this show to. I miss her soooo much
i love her laugh!
Very rarley do you get a funny woman Catherine has me in tears .
