Because they are all actors themselves. in fact the first person she chooses with her box is in most of her sketches...otherwise i think she would not get away with some of the things she says to them apart from making them laugh ;-)

I'm sure you're not the only one but you are in a total minority. Its considered one of the very best characters of English comedy. Especially for us Londeners or Essex because she is so relatable lol.

@@MrMarky2000 Hi, I can think of better characters I must say. My mums side are Londoners and mum hates Nan as well. My aunt Doris was a real cor blimey, a real character, would have a good swear etc, She made her views known like nan but not as crass. But Doris had a heart of gold. I think it's Nans high pitched voice and laugh for me that was off putting. Cheers 🍻
