Hey Justin !!! Awesome video!!!! Especially after my unexpected fish I caught while catfishing tonight! Friday April 26 at 930pm was catfishing in the housatonic river in Connecticut. Average catfish is 5 pounds, channel cats get up to 20 pounds. I was using my catfish rig with 15 pound mono. I was using Fall Fish as cut bait. Rod bent over and drag took off. After about 10 minutes of fighting something that was jumping, I landed a 4 foot ( 51 inches exact ) Northern Pike. There is no logical reason on why I was able to catch this fish, especially in the dark. I didn’t have a leader, only 15 pound test, I shouldn’t have been able to land this fish. This was my first northern pike and I still can’t believe I caught it. Pike usually go after huge lures and live bait.

I knew you should not have said “Mother Nature be damned”. I could almost hear he say “I’ll fix him”. 😂. Put two or three large plastic trash bags in the yak somewhere. Makes a rain coat, a sun shield or just a bag. Doesn’t take up any room. Good luck.

I may be wrong but I never see any other fishing shows catch the amount of fish you constantly catch. I know it's not all back-to-back and time passes by in between but still the amount of fish you catch on your videos is amazing. I love watching your Tournament videos those are my favorite they keep me on the edge of my seat and I get an anxiety attack whenever you measure a fish thinking it's going to flop off that board go in the water before you can get a proper measurement and take a picture well keep up the good work I look forward to the next one.

I like the tube style rod holders when anchoring and casting my baits out on bottom.

The glasses I was wearing in this video are Costas. I don’t really like them though because they don’t fit my head well. I used to have some cheap polarized glasses from Walmart that were pretty good for the price.

gotta be pretty difficult dealing with the waves in a kayak, I hope everyone can understand that everyone is entitled to fish in whatever vessel is legal it would be nice for them to slow down and not hit you with a wake. Fisherman are fisherman whether you chase the same type of fish or not if people complain someone will be happy to make boating illegal if they can do it. not saying you specifically

Remember to buy a cheap rain poncho, there a few bucks at the pro commie China retail store (Walmart) they fold up in to a napkin size, easy to put somewhere in tackle bag or on the yak. I scored a bunch awhile back in the clearance section, paid 0.50 cents each.

Fish just dont really bite tails, I don't think I've ever caught a fish on a tail peice personally and I've thrown a tail out plenty of times

I've caught 3 cats in less than 10mins before as soon as I hit the water. Spent 4hrs out there with nothing hitting after that... so weird

bass fishermen are annoying some times

i have a huge question for you @kayackCatfish, [top end of Kerr lake or lower end] for cat fishing. this time of year is a nightmare for kayak fishing, lived here all my life absolutely love to eat catfish, I use a small paddle kayak but I have paddled from bottom to top of the lake, I don't intend on catching 20 pound and up but aye if I do I will record it for you! I have been dying to get back out fishing i don't care about competitions the thing I want most is food on the table and a good time!, big fish extra fun because I get to show everyone I got a free ride from a fish dragging me across the lake!

I don’t know enough about Kerr lake to give you a good answer. In the reservoirs here this time of year, I prefer fishing the upper and middle sections though

The only reason why the bigger one is lay still on the board is because they're tired out from fighting so much them. Younger fish are full of energy. Not like the big boys
