They basically have lock at will serated knives on their pectoral and dorsal fins. So they know if they dont behave they can basically shank each other.. Being nice pays off. All they have to do is posture and they give space.

You should break the pellets into smaller bits for the turtles. By the way it always amazes me at how the catfish are so much more gentle than the bass. the bass are lightning fast and you can barely see them, the catfish get the pellets in a very gently and very chill manner.
