Yet another great walk through, the information you give your subscribers and others just surfing by is great.
Thank you! I'm glad you appreciate and enjoy them!
I've been watching your videos for a while now, and might I say this is some really cool stuff! You really know your terminology as well! I appreciate the time you take to share this stuff, this is about as close as I will get :) Look forward to your videos.
enjoy your documentaries on these machines, lots of great info, thanks for your time to do this.
"Lets take a closer look" moves two feet closer. Just kidding your videos are great!
Your welcome! I'm glad you enjoy and learn from them
This is awesome. Its awesome because for people like me who see these machines at sites and wonder what its like near the machine get a chance at a walk through on this video. Gotta say its Awesome
you could live in that cab!
We had a 5130 in Bauxite Mine in Jamaica .Great Machine .
Thank you, I appreciate it! I have a couple videos featuring some Volvo loaders on my channel.
Great video, Justin, I learned a lot, like always.
very nice machine and a great video to boot. thx man for all the wonderful videos that you make.
I really like these documentary videos! Good job,
Thanks, very nice video. I like the access the designers provided for maintenance - smart.
love all your videos ,good work keep them coming
Thanks!
Your welcome, glad you enjoy them!
Yes sir! I've filmed it working last summer but haven't done a documentary on it yet
Great video as always love this big machinery!
Thanks! It's very interesting! You are really a nice guide!
What are those hoses running from the exhaust mufflers to the air cleaners at 11:00?
Great video 👍👍👍 Don't think too many made it to the UK. But there was a face shovel at an opencast i worked at along with a 5080...
Have you ever come across a Koehring 1266 or 1466 at those mines you visit or work at?
Great documentary!
Well thank you I appreciate it!
Another good one,PA keep them comin!
Thanks always love your videos!
i really love your videos, you really know your machines,.
Now that I think about it. You should get out of the work trade you've more then likely been in. And get ahold of Catipillar and send them some of your vids. They should really take your knowledge in consideration. You no your stuff. You would be a great spokesperson for them. Especially during the Los Vegas construction show. You have a good discussion skill and good explaining method. Thanks.
nice vid i hope to see one on my trip in a week
Welcome!
Good video
man that is mighty clean in the engine bay for its age
amanzing escavator good vedeo all basic information for working really nice explication nice

Yes. Good maintenance is the key to the long life of a machine. Giving the machine a frequent bath helps reduce grease and oil buildup which can become a fire hazard

Seen a many red tagged till we came steamed em....never was around any big cats but done bout everything else...starfire back then in hazard was a job to see...pH 4100,Marion 8050, and more d11s than you'll ever dream of..994,20 or 30 992s...793b's...miss those days
I noticed that the builder's plate had the old Caterpillar C logo
Was that machine recently pressure washed? Was suprised to see how clean the engine and pumps were and the machine over all, Great vid
you would have the best voice for a football announcer ever
after it was intruduced the 5130 quickly became the best selling machine in its class
awesome video when was the last time the cat was running
Not even close. A 5130 is much larger than a PC1250.
Big Cat, big info, big video^^ Nice
nice i miss working with the cat
grate walk around and i hate v-8s i prefure a inline 8 or a inline 6
it used D11N sized track chains.
The only Koehring's I've come across are 1066's and 1166's
1250 only has one stick ram. The two on this are roughly the size of the one on the 1250
About the same size as a pc 1250
Great video and accurate but my personal feelings on this machine are negative. Don't get me wrong I prefer Caterpillar machines over others to work on but the 5130 is a lemon. Underpowered to start with and I believe the tracks are too narrow for the machine. They are notorious for literally breaking in half at the slew ring (I have seen this!!!) They require special maintenance in this area other diggers don't. I much prefer the smaller Komatsu PC1250. In my opinion Hitachi makes the best product in this size range.

I disagree. Yes the 51/5230 had many design flaws but power was not one of them. The opposite is actually true. These machine were overpowered for how light they were built. And yes, slew rings were always a problem with the 5130. This particular unit had it's slew ring changed several times in it's life.

PAmining I have only had anything to do with 2 different 5130s and both seemed slow, maybe they were both off a bit? Bad pumps or not set right maybe? My preference is Cat machines to work on but personally have never actually put a spanner to a 5130. I have had experience operating and maintaining many Hitachi excavators, 1200, 1900, 2500-1 & -5, 3600-5&-6 and 5500 which seemed to perform better than the 5130 (relative to their size). I have extensively worked on and operated PC1250's and found them a fairly good machine. Keep the videos coming they are some of the best machine videos on you tube.
PA, are you an operator your self, or are you just an enthusiast, or both? :)

Haha, I am mining engineer student (one more semester left before I graduate). Enthusiast, yes. I used to operate as my first summer job for a couple years and learned under some of the most skilled operators (IMO).

PCGAMR1 Sorry man, I only film the big mining equipment, not the small construction class stuff.

>_> lol just asking cause im in quarrying and planning on getting a 345 ,but considering getting a 245 as its just stronger and seems to handle the work better, what do you thinK?
@PAmining
10 жыл бұрын
PCGAMR1 That depends on many factors. They are both good machines. 245's are bears for hard rock digging but don't have the speed nor the comfort that a newer Cat does. Many old time operators still believe the 200 series was the last good excavator series Cat ever built
its just a little bigger then your volvo 120. not by much though haha
That you can lol
Hahaha, lmao. Thanks
Nope, just got to watch your head going through doorways
