this is how much pain a stonefish will give you compared to a bee ⇩

They are so incredibly well camouflaged. I was diving and just kneeling on the bottom in the sand when another diver came up and pointed down near my knee. I looked to see a stone fish about a foot from me. When I looked up, he pointed again and I looked down and saw that there was a second smaller one just inches from the other. I didn't see/notice either of them before.

Why does this vid look like the vids of monster fish or river monsters on netflix😂😂

Speaking of venomous fish, I have a little story. So, I live in Croatia, which has a coast on the Adriatic Sea, and we're not famous for any specifically dangerous and toxic creatures. As a matter of fact, out of all the places on the planet, I'd call the entire Mediterranean as more of a 1-5 level area if we're speaking gamer lingo, with the waters around Australia being level 50. So, we go to Istria every summer and have been doing so for years on end. Two years ago, we went to the beach as we usually do where I go swim with fish, dive, and fish from inside the water with a hand fishing line reel, then take photos of the fish I catch, document them and then release them. (I also encountered some gorgeous invertebrate friends!) None of the fish are harmed, I've been doing that since I was a wee child (and I'm like 21 now) so I have some experience with that akjsdfj. So, I was swimming in the shallows and my goggles were *constantly* fogging up, it was a nightmare. I was desperately trying to take care of the line and the bait I had with myself, and I couldn't see properly through my goggles, but I did notice a fish-like shape on the seafloor amongst the stones. The fish looked a LOT like a giant goby which are pretty much everywhere in the Adriatic. However, since I know their behaviour, and that means they'd storm away before you could even get close to them, it was highly suspicious that they weren't moving. And I, for some inexplicable reason, went to invesetigate with my foot, nearly stepping on them. Thankfully, they were feeling kind that day and moved out of my way the moment I set the foot down. I was baffled, I put away my line, cleaned up my goggles and dove down just to see that the fish in question was actually a black scorpionfish. I am so glad that they were understanding and didn't want to have me step on them, probably because the area they were in is actually a very popular beach so they are familiar with humans. But yeah, that trip to the beach could have been cut very short very quickly.

Kings beach very popular during these school hols with Brisbane families, you’ve done excellent work Miller relocating the Stone fish you have also helped The university of Sunshine coast uni hospital emergency ward from such stings.

Caught one yesterday down at Jacobs well, called it the grumpy fish until we found out what it was. definitely was a good idea not to touch it. Had a feeling the little bugger was venomous

I was out on peanut island in Florida. I went snorkeling with my friend and was above one like a inch away and my friend screamed at me and told me to swim. I didn’t see it then at that point and my friend saved my life. It was really big but really hidden. Edit: this has happened today.
