CATCHING THE BRIDGE MONSTER! HOW TO Catch GIANT FLOUNDER with LIVE MULLET

We ventured into the Chesapeake Bay searching for the bridge monster, the giant flounder using live finger mullet. In this vid I show everything from how to catch your live bait with a cast net and how to catch the bridge monster flounder. If you don't know how to throw a cast net - or you don't like to use live bait - hopefully this vid will encourage you to get up out there and try it!
Thank you everyone to all your support on this channel! At the end of the vid I give a quick update on our channel and answer the question that we are absolutely still making vids, we just took a break
This vid is a tutorial on how to catch flounder. If it's not enough for you we have plenty more tutorials on flounder and just on inshore fishing!
Bait: Live Finger Mullet
Rig: Fish-finder rig or as the Bass anglers call it - the Carolina Rig
1oz Egg weight sinker
2 way swivel
3/o-4/o hooks
Let that bait sit on the bottom and hang on for the giant!
Aint' no thang at all!
Get up out there and catch some fish!

I’m going to be in corova beach 2nd to 3rd week of September and hoping to do some surf fishing. I’m hoping we can catch some mullet, pompano, trout and hopefully some red drum puppies or bulls from the surf? What do you think we will have a decent chance at? Possibly may put in the kayak if the surf is not too rough?

Great video. I was drifting the end of an incoming tide in a deep channel in Ocean City last Saturday and could only get flounder to hit on live bait. I was using decent size mud minnows. I had a lot of throw backs and found one keeper. Next trip out I'm going to try to cast net for some finger mullet. I think that will attract the bigger fish this time of year.

Fishing a mullet is just like fishing a killie. That spot we fished should have some finger mullet start pushing though any day now. They produce some nice fluke at that spot.

just found your channel, that was a very nice flounder. so many ways to catch them but finger mullet is the candy... you said that fish was caught in Virginia however the end of the video around your pool deck looks like you live somewhere in Florida, those banana trees don't do well in any kind of cold. I'm guessing not quite 26 in and almost 9 lb what were the specs on that fish please

Are there flounder near where you caught the mullet? It looks like the kind of place in Florida where flounder would be. I'm from Florida but I'm probably moving to the VA Beach area in a few weeks and I can't wait to go fishin'. That's one of my plans for eating cheap. Nice flat fish! I hope I can find them from shore there. Live bait is normal to me so I should do okay.

I bet when the tide is moving out, that little creek would be a great spot to land flounder as they lay in wait for those mullet to pass by.

@@markmcleod5079 I finally did move to VA by the Chesapeake. It's been lots of fun learning about the fish here and meeting lots of people. I got a kayak and started going out around bridges, tunnels, docks and marshes. The flounder have been a little tough, I caught a bunch of shorts and 1 keeper and lost the biggest one of course. Some have been around the mouth of a little river. Now the flounder are moving out but trout and redfish are biting better and stripers should start to get caught soon. I can't wait.
