CATCHING THE BRIDGE MONSTER! HOW TO Catch GIANT FLOUNDER with LIVE MULLET
We ventured into the Chesapeake Bay searching for the bridge monster, the giant flounder using live finger mullet. In this vid I show everything from how to catch your live bait with a cast net and how to catch the bridge monster flounder. If you don't know how to throw a cast net - or you don't like to use live bait - hopefully this vid will encourage you to get up out there and try it!
Thank you everyone to all your support on this channel! At the end of the vid I give a quick update on our channel and answer the question that we are absolutely still making vids, we just took a break
This vid is a tutorial on how to catch flounder. If it's not enough for you we have plenty more tutorials on flounder and just on inshore fishing!
Bait: Live Finger Mullet
Rig: Fish-finder rig or as the Bass anglers call it - the Carolina Rig
1oz Egg weight sinker
2 way swivel
3/o-4/o hooks
Let that bait sit on the bottom and hang on for the giant!
Aint' no thang at all!
Get up out there and catch some fish!

Good to hear that you both are still doing videos. You guys were one of the first KZreadrs I followed to learn more on fishing. Keep doing your catch and cook videos also!

I really love y'alls videos. I just started fishing in the Hampton area and haven't had much success but y'alls videos give me the needed inspiration to continue. Thanks

Welcome back 🎣🎣
I’m going to be in corova beach 2nd to 3rd week of September and hoping to do some surf fishing. I’m hoping we can catch some mullet, pompano, trout and hopefully some red drum puppies or bulls from the surf? What do you think we will have a decent chance at? Possibly may put in the kayak if the surf is not too rough?
Amazing Flounder!!!! Well done guys!!
New to VB, where do you like to launch in area that have good ramps and good parking
Great video 🎉welcome back. So now I’ve got to find some live mullet and learn to toss a cast net. We appreciate you as well .
Super dope catch!
I'm soaking up all the info on your videos. I'm going on vacation at N myrtle Beach in mid September. I subbed. Bring it on. I want to be successful. Haven't been surf fishing since I was a kid in Nagshead in the seventies. Thanks
Great video. I was drifting the end of an incoming tide in a deep channel in Ocean City last Saturday and could only get flounder to hit on live bait. I was using decent size mud minnows. I had a lot of throw backs and found one keeper. Next trip out I'm going to try to cast net for some finger mullet. I think that will attract the bigger fish this time of year.
Long time no see bud. Good to see you posting
After being gone over a decade, I’m moving back to the eastern shore in a couple days. I appreciate all the videos and tips. Gonna be a learning curve after fishing the Appalachian mountain creeks and rivers for so long. Cheers dudes
Good to see y'all are back. Surprisingly, I missed your videos. I figured your trust fund had run out lol.
Good job
Be sure I use this on my 1 a day for 4 weeks here season in North Carolina and that's some bull!!!!

@@UWPcustombaits no doubt but man I can't believe they doin this in NC but not SC or Virginia...like the flounder in NC don't go to either of them states!!!
Did you ever measure and weigh the monster? Great video. I’ve never used mullet or a fish finder rig for flounder. We almost exclusively drift fish with gulp, minnows, or peanut bunker. And cast and retrieve when land based. Would like to give it a try soon

Fishing a mullet is just like fishing a killie. That spot we fished should have some finger mullet start pushing though any day now. They produce some nice fluke at that spot.
That was definitely quite a doormat!!!
Nice catch! 🇺🇸👍
Plz do more surf fishing!
Kristi & Jeff...Are you having your "Meet & Greet" at Lynnhaven this year?
Stud for sure!

Thanks.. Soup to nuts right there… questWhich island off CBBT? Also where is the mullet hole?
Great video and tips. What’s your equipment?
caught a 4 1/2 pounder last weekend on a megabass 6" swimbait!! pulled like a freight train 🔥
wish we could eat these more than a week or two a year in NC
Missed a spot on the sunscreen
Agreed. I've never personally seen a flounder that big on the water.
🔥🔥🔥fire video, nice flatty
I learned how throw a net from a KZread guy, mike @reel reports
That’s halibut size flounder 👍💯😂
just found your channel, that was a very nice flounder. so many ways to catch them but finger mullet is the candy... you said that fish was caught in Virginia however the end of the video around your pool deck looks like you live somewhere in Florida, those banana trees don't do well in any kind of cold. I'm guessing not quite 26 in and almost 9 lb what were the specs on that fish please
What was the OAL of that beast I’m VB local been fishing for 22 yrs of all our water ways . ECSC coming up
What a nice Fluke
As someone who has caught a 6lb flounder and thousands more this isn’t the best way use 5inch swimming mullet gulp also I caught out of somewhere very very close to there called chincoteague🙂
Virginian here…. Cast Nets are NOT uncommon in Va.
Where have you all been
Are there flounder near where you caught the mullet? It looks like the kind of place in Florida where flounder would be. I'm from Florida but I'm probably moving to the VA Beach area in a few weeks and I can't wait to go fishin'. That's one of my plans for eating cheap. Nice flat fish! I hope I can find them from shore there. Live bait is normal to me so I should do okay.

I bet when the tide is moving out, that little creek would be a great spot to land flounder as they lay in wait for those mullet to pass by.

@@markmcleod5079 I finally did move to VA by the Chesapeake. It's been lots of fun learning about the fish here and meeting lots of people. I got a kayak and started going out around bridges, tunnels, docks and marshes. The flounder have been a little tough, I caught a bunch of shorts and 1 keeper and lost the biggest one of course. Some have been around the mouth of a little river. Now the flounder are moving out but trout and redfish are biting better and stripers should start to get caught soon. I can't wait.
One word, "Wow!"
So how big was it ? How long ? What did it weigh ?
Should throw out some chum then cast net
Any tips on how to keep the mullet alive in a smaller well?
How big was it? My pb is 22". That looked bigger!
Look at his face 😂🤣
Flounder in the net and the one you posed with were not the same flounder.
You should see the ones we get in Texas
I used to lather up like you do, but since going to spf balaclava and gaiters I can’t go back to sun block… Nice video!
You can count fully on our support! Charlie from FL
Bro you got to rub in the sunscreen in a little better 😂
I was hoping you would have thrown him back to make lots more Big Baby Flounders/Fluke. He sure was a Huge Pig for sure.
So your saying we have a chance?
Too bad mullet are seasonal. Huge Flounder and yea I thought only Jeff catches a Red Flounder fishing. Never seen one fight like that. CBBT is the best. Learn so much from you and total respect.
So how much did the door mat weigh?
Door mat
What time of the year?
A PB Fish and you don’t know how much it weighs or how long it was? 😢 what happens if you catch a even bigger one😮 just saying
Would be nice to know how long it was. Surely you weighed it before it got cooked?
Been missing ya'll
Where is Christy??
Beast flatty
The joker
My biggest flounder i would catch would do a short run or dig them self deeper in the bottom. To where i thought i was caught on the bottom, but would feel a little shake and then they started coming up.
Where is this again?
Come to Montauk NY see what a doormat really is. Ten lbs +.
@8:40 I haven't seen a flounder that size since the 1970s.
The words “I’ll put the lead in my mouth” isn’t something I would hear today, yet here we are.
You’re right it isn’t a flounder it’s a hali lmao
Ur using it like it’s a lure just use soft plastic
Thats a hubcap. Lol
What 8 pounds? Thats not a monster by any means I guess it is if you haven't caught anything bigger.
Its A FLUKE
