for many brands, better to catch the swing by booming up because boom down is on gravity, which is very slow, boom up is much faster and better control because it's done by hydraulic pressure.

Unless your target is away in which case you catch it in steps on the way out. Or even better.... shut up and stand where you want it lol 😆 Personally. I stand where I want it. Set my dunnage up. See where the chains/slings are on the load. Adjust my dunnage accordingly so the crane can come in drop and f off. Crane driver expertly guesses 95% of the move I clean up the last bits

I have a signalman test coming up soon where someone will hand push the whip line and I’ll hand signal the operator when to swing and stop the swing in order to catch it. My question is when do I stop the operator from swinging?

What about when slewing blind tell him to ease off the slew when 2 meters away from the degree you need
