That's why I love them 1inch plastic shad I catch everything on them❣🦅🎣✌🏻
Crispy fried crappie tail is the best part.
Just Love that Drag Sound!!!
A Mitchell 300! That reel is nearly half a century old and still going strong.
I never get bored, finally getting to watching your older vids now! Thanks for all your hard work RGTFM!!! 😍😍💖💖
I can hardly wait for springtime as it is...I come from an avid fisherman line, and we "" DO go fishin' when we can, and catfish and crappy are my two main fish that I have fun to catch. My health wont let me go fishing in the winter, Thanks again to you and Elmo for the choice entertainment !!
Add another Great Fun Video!!! Thank You Richard Gene for taking the time to teach us...

I'm glad to see you keeping some of the fish you're catchin'. My wife and I just groan when you throw back some of the beautiful "keepers" that you get. Keep it up Richard, we love what you do!

crappie fishing! enjoyed!
what a skilled angler you are and brave too using 1 lb line...Great video as usuall ....cant wait to see the next one...I once had a pro guide on West Point offer to teach me how to use a cast net....man he had my form looking good and I was rocking back and forth in just the right rythm ...and when he said throw it....the net left my hand and flattened out just perfect and made a perfect landing right on top of my buddy sitting in the drivers seat behind the steering wheel...there was no wayhe could have escaped that net wrapped around his head and shouloders....the guide was great...he said....ok Bill you got the form and release down perfect now try casting it on the water instead of the inside of the boat! I did eventually get a good release that landed outside the boat but the shad had moved on already.....my buddy still flinches when I toss the cast net......have a great day sir...it is a beauty up here in NE Tennessee.

I've been trying to get more into Crappie fishing and this is my first summer crappie fishing in 98 degree heat in North Louisiana. After watching you video last night I went and fished bridge pillars, didn't catch any thing but a Goo. Any tips for hot days of fishing?

Your right Richard the rock bass is a berry good eating fish I remember as a child my dad would go fishing for them and he said there nickname was red eyes I always knew them as redeyes until I got older. My dad in Kentucky would go up a small stream and find a muddy bank and take his hands and turn the mud over and find mud eels and take them and go down to the river and find and old sycamore tree with big roots running down in the water and take the eel and hook it about twothirds the way back so it would wiggle and he would run it down in those roots and pull out some big rock bass just a found memory of when I was young. Thanks for the memory Richard 👍on the video bring me more please
Also was very glad to see you do keep some to eat.
My family fishes the Spring River in AR, there are tons of hefty rock bass there. Sometimes it's all you can catch. For the first decade we were there, we thought they were trash fish. Now, they are my mom's favorite tasting fish.
You make it looks so easy!!! Thanks for sharing!!! You ROCK!!!!
Good catch. Had fun watching. Thanks. Sure enjoyed that.
Great vid. Good to see someone catching to eat and not throw everything back.

We use to catch rock bass in the Little River up by Walland and Townsend, Tennessee. We'd catch those, rainbows, bluegill, and the occasional smallmouth. You're right about them being good eating. We'd cook em on the fire outside the cabin. Good times, I tell you. Good times.
Richard, man that was some nice crappie, great tips also, keep the vids coming...

I’m new to your channel. The Tennessee river looks pretty broad, maybe it’s just the camera. Really enjoy the videos I’ve watched so far, and thank you for taking to time to share with everybody. I am almost 40 and just started fishing a little over two years ago. So I should’ve known this stuff along time ago but I guess better late than never. Thank you sir have a good day

I love this guy I don't watch crappie fishing but this guy fun to watch I subed to your channel
Now you know it’s gotta be hot for the legend to be in shorts I’m telling you what! Love you RGFM
i had to come back and watch this one again....you have a great way with giving instructions and information....I honestly think you would be very good as a host for a tv fishing show. I like that you always state the hook size, line and wieght size....you make learning fun...I do have one complaint and hope it doesnt offend you....but you need to put out 5 or 6 videos a week...at least.....you are the only channel I have a notification alarm set up.....thanks for all your great tips and fun videos...Bill Jones, chuckey, Tn.

freeze you a 2 litre bottle of water..and drop it in there with your minnows..keeps them alive longer..old fisherman taught me this years ago..also works well in your live well or fish holding cooler
Ok, I will admit it!!! I puckered up a bit!! Thought you was a fixin to snag on yer trollin doohickey!!!! Good laugh is good fer ya too! Reckon It wasnt a big dele, the moving picture show was a nuff!!! No, I can spell...but I did live in Alabama a few years!!!!!!!
Me Gene do you anchor around those columns or just use your trolling motor to keep in place?
Awesome fishing videos bud, why would anyone put thumbs down on a video where your catching good fish and havin fun and learning about fishin , they must be jealous or stupid! 👍
I agree with that accent. I had to turn it up for my wife to hear and she asked, "Where is he from"? I just grinned and shrugged. Other than that, great video!!! :)

Richard I watched your comments on fish attractants. did understand that the slab sauce was Pico brand. Also where do you find hi vis 2# line?
Richard, I go to mountain lake R V park a lot and have a canoe to fish out of. have a lot of jigs and and all sorts of rod and reels to fish with, where would suggest for me to go for crappies say during July.
Loved this video And you’re down to earth style. Seem like the kind a guy I love to fish with. By the way work rod Reel combo or are you using the greenish one
