    Fished this spot a few times. Current in that spot is so insane that it’s often hard to get the baits down to bottom. Fished it last night and dropped vibes while drifting with the current and hooked a solid fish, ran with the current down the wall and took some time and got it next to the boat before it did a huge head shake and snapped me off. Was devastated

    Mullet are getting harder to catch around the Gold Coast. My favourite spot is up behind Southport in a small creek called Loders Creek, You will usually find a few Mullet up the back end sitting in the deeper holes. Good Luck mate.

    Sometimes it's like that. I usually only fish that spot when the sea Mullet are running and sometimes the Mullet are schooled up along the Seaway north wall on a run in tide. Easy to catch in a cast net. Other than that I spend a few hours cast netting the canals for Mullet.

    Yep i have caught a few Sharks there over the years. If the sea running Mullet are in the Seaway the big Jewies will be at Wave break. Keep trying mate you will get one.

    What is the minimum size mullet for live bait? How do You catch your live bait?

  • @Aussie-Fishing

    @Aussie-Fishing

    Hi Katrina there are no size limits for Mullet and the best way to catch big Mullet is a cast net. You will need to put some time in and a lot of cast with the net to find the Mullet. If the sea running Mullet are schooled up in the seaway over high water they are easy to catch. Other than that you will need to find them and that takes time. Good Luck
