Hey Bud, I'm from Michigan and would like to try fishing over there once, I just don't know where to launch. Is that the marina by Bass Pro shops?

Yep. Right off I94 by bass pro. Take St rd 249 north, cross the little cal river and first left.

Perch rigs and minnows. They didn’t hit on night crawlers at all.

Great video…. I missed this one. What exactly is the perch rig? How deep were u fishing? 1/2 oz weight?

A perch rig is a drop shot with 2 hooks above. Here in a few weeks I will post a vid with them on it. We were in 25 feet of water. We use heavier weights as we fish deeper and lighter ones if shallow. The heavier the weight, the faster it gets to the bottom. Most of the fish are hugging bottom.

If we get some decent South winds for 3 or 4 days the perch will be in. Then, as long as the weather stays stable, they will stay. If the weather turns bad they move out again. Any day now.

Thanks for the video. I wanted ask a question. I would like to fish for some pan fish up in Lake Michigan but my boat is only 14 feet Semi V boat. I am a little bit afraid of the big water fishing in a small boat. Do people use 14 foot boats often up there when the waves are small? I appreciate your help.

You can take any boat on Lake Michigan if the conditions are right. You have to research wind directions and know what the wind has been in the last 24 hours and what the wind will be 3-4 hours after you plan on staying out on the lake. Lake Michigan's wind forcast is a lot of times opposite of onshore winds. I use a wind app called windfinder.com. I would visit this app several times a day for a few weeks and you will start to understand patterns. Waves build at 8-10 mph winds. So, if the wind was supposed to be under 8 mph for the day and the winds have been calm in the last 24 hours and predicted to be less than 8 mph a few hours after you thought you would get off the lake, then you could get out.
