Hey guys, Today I went out with My buddy casper from ‪@casper_caff‬ on this day of the Bahamas trip we went commercial lobstering, and it was CRAZY. We ended up getting 212 lobster to sell to the seafood markets. Everything done in this video is 100% Legal, the Bahamians I went with have commercial licenses and they are residents with a permit to use the compressor. Hope you enjoy the video!

I forgot to mention, lobsters in the Bahamas must be Size: 3 3⁄8 inches carapace length or six inches tail length. (Be careful-the U.S. carapace minimum is 3 inches, so pay attention on how you measure your lobster.) and commercially we are aloud to keep 250 lobsters. We ended the day with 212. We averaged 8-12$ a pound per lobster

Can you include some measurements in a video of like a 3” you let go and a 3 3/8” Bahama legal for comparison? Would like to see the comparison and maybe the weight difference

As a avid lobster diver in the florida keys,,,Very few of those were even 3" ... SO WHERES YOUR GAUGE? Sorry you can't BS someone who does this all the time... in case you want to know a 3" lobster is about 8 years old and will spawn 2 or 3 times before its legal to collect...

Enjoyed the video, only problem I have is how many lobsters are first killed then measured and thrown back in the water. I know a lot of people would say yes but the other fish will eat it. So why not just hook all fish and kill all other fish in the same way ?????? Just seems like the net idea you mentioned seems like a better option, thereby throwing back all those that are undersize......

Seems to be the only thing that doesnt go up. Fisheries been making 2-3x the amount, and the restaurants double up. I see 25.99/lb tuna here and have never seen over 7 bucks a lb even when there is no fish and its off season. I think in the next few years lot of fisheries are going to be going out of business as the commercial fisherman start selling more direct. We bust our fucking asses while other people make a ton more money then us just peddling our goods.

Great content. Real Life Living. Don't feel the need to say it over and over again about what is being done is legal. It's like you are trying to convince your audience about it. You put a disclaimer in the beginning and mentioned it early on. That's more then enough. Yes this is your channel. Run it as you see fit. However, maybe next time mention during your voice over, the seaaon for lobster fishing, how many can be harvested, the economic impact it has for locals, etc.etc..... Wiki Info. It adds to the overall enjoyment to watching your lifestyle and adds depth to your videos. Regardless dude, I'm a fan. Keep it up.

The fishery is maintained by the size limit. An there are far less boats an divers in the bahamas than Florida. So not as many people have access to the lobster. They did all this in 30ish feet of water. An likely didn't see another boat doing the same all day. The lobster population will be fine.

@@who_is_asking I Gotta agree with you! My uncle is a lobster trapper in Maine. Each "licenced" lobster trapper in Maine is allowed 800 traps!!! That's right, 800!!!! My uncle runs 600 with a 3 day soak so he pulls 200 a day and rotates (during the season of course). And I saw bays in Maine that had THOUSANDS of traps. Take the big ones, release (and feed!) the small ones for they are the next generation. My uncle calls it FARMING lobsters because all the bait grows the little ones fast and leads to increased reproduction! Farming! And did you know lobsters were SO plentiful at onetime they used to be jailhouse food? It's true, look it up. Cheers!

Please let the rest of the lobsters (and other legal to capture sea life) live to be caught and eaten another day. Our resources are already under constant stress from overfishing so please do what you can to be a part of the solution-not the problem.
