Thanks so much! They really are turning into a fishing family so the pontoon was worth the investment. It's been a great year even if I didn't get many videos out, just fun to step back and hang with them and show them what it's like out there.

Family outing, great work. Don't know how I jumped over this vid. Better late than never.

Thanks man! That was how my year was, lots of trips to the river but didn't focus as much on fishing. This trip was more for the catfishing though. Been fishing vicariously through you and your videos this year thanks for keeping them coming

Haha thanks man they freaky are a game changer! You sacrifice on being able to get in shallow water but there's so much room on them that the family loves being in it. Can spend a whole day or night no problem on it

Thanks man, I'm trying to get the family in to catfishing and I think it's starting to stick. Those Potomac trips really help haha!

This one slipped past me!!! Started watching the other morning on the ride to work but got sidetracked lol. Been out chasing flattys any? I've been down several times since last time I talked to you. I ended up HAMMERING them that night. Went back there 1 more time after that and ended up having motor troubles. Been going to the other spot down river a bit there, fish are stacking up pretty good 2 weekends ago I did real good. Got a 43-9 and a bunch of smaller fish one night. Been down a couple more times since then and did decent. No monsters, but hooked a couple giants. These next couple weeks I plan on hitting it hard. Glad to see ya putting that new boat to work with the family man!!!!

Been working above State College for 4 weeks now so it looks like I'm missing the fall flathead bite again it seems. I'm glad you were able to get into some monsters though! That almost 44lber probably fought like a beast! Send some pictures so I can fish through you bud!

Love the channel! Looking to get a boat for catfishing the Potomac as well -do you have any recommendations for the type? Been looking at aluminum, center consoles, john boats, etc. Thanks for the advice!

Hey sorry man I didn't see this comment. You definitely want a V bottom hull if you plan on fishing the Potomac in that area. It can get pretty choppy with just a little wind down there. If you're going to have your family out a lot then a pontoon may be a good option because they can cut through waves pretty well. But it's a lot of boat if you won't have a lot of people on it. I've seen a lot of those Basstracker Targus boats in the tournaments and they seem to handle it well. You can get by with a 16ft or bigger john boat but you will definitely need to look at the weather closely before going out and stay away with anything over 8 mph. I have a 16ft mod V john boat that I use there a lot but I always look ahead and see what the wind and wind gusts will be- assume the wind gusts will be the sustained speed since it's so wide open. Hey thanks a lot! We've had an awesome summer this year in that boat even if they haven't always ended in a video. We explored a lot of islands and did a lot of swimming and some fishing. It's great seeing my family fall in love with being in the water.
