Thanks for watching. Those chub are Big! I think the smallest ive had is 5lb 8oz, up to 6lb 3oz. Its done a 7lber. I'd rather a river six all day. Tight lines.

tough session there Paul! You showed a great deal of patience and restraint in not giving in to the "maggot temptation". I would have lasted 20 mins on the big tackle before commencing "operation tiddler snatch"! looked bloody cold in that wind! well done on the chub, I've managed the odd 5 lb plus but not a 6 pounder. Rivers are finally settling around here so hopefully on a "proper" river soon! 👍

Looked horrible Paul but well done for sticking it out. Picked up an Informer last time I was up in Kent and it had a brilliant article about Keston Ponds, which I fished as a lad. Happy New Year and keep ‘em coming. Thanks 👍

Hi Michael, it wasn't as bad as it looked as it was quite mild which surprised me that i didn't catch more? The fresh water informer is still going strong and long may it last.

I've got to get down there Paul as I've yet to catch a six pound chub. I think Tricklebrook has bought in some stupid rules which makes it almost impossible to fish for the roach and perch

Hi Clive, that's interesting about Tricklebrook, I will have to investigate be a shame if its the case but I can see it happening on mist waters, Chittenden is almost like that now. Knightingales chub are huge and in a few sessions you'll catch a six but they are poor relations to their river brethren.

@@PaulVicaryfishingHi Paul, I've just looked at the rules on their website and it seems that regardless of what you're fishing for on the main lake (where the big roach and perch are) you have to use carp gear, never used to be that way. Might be worth a phone call. As for Chit,, be buggered if I'm going to buy a 50" net, if I was unfortunate enough to catch a big cat I'd glove it out. I will try Knightingales once the milder weather comes. You're right that you can't compare lake chub to river chub but I've fished most of the best rivers in the country and haven't had a 6lber and I'm getting desperate lol. All the best
