Catching a ride ... on a bullet thermal ...

Paragliding Goldcoast Hinterland, Queensland - Australia.
Light to moderate south-easterly winds, gusty conditions.
While on a cross-country flight from Beechmont I got low
at "Hinchies" ... and then I found this climb ...

Great stuff - though I was hoping to hear the vario go "Continuous Scream". Been in a few of those arse kickers. Thanks for the music tip. Go Wild Marmalade!

Vario sings the happy song!
I learnt to fly nearby around Beachmont with Phill and he put me up in some massive thermal on my first ever flight. I did do my first ever top landing at Beechmont but thats another scary story. After the thermal picked me up Phill told me that he was scared I wouldn't ever come down lol, he might have had to send me over the back of the hill and land in a paddock miles downwind all by myself. I was feeling good about the height having been in loads of helicopters and didn't know what danger I was potentially in. Pulled some big ears but still going up then some B lines for a good couple of minutes which finally got me back down to a learner type of altitude. There is some serious suck in that part of Queensland so beware on strong days. What happened to Phil does anyone know?

Wow that sounds terrifying lol pulling a b line stall on your first flight lol they can get super messy... should have just held big ears and half bar but I ain’t an instructor tho he was obviously wanting to get you down quick especially if there were clouds
