It’s now breeding season in North Alabama. Should I use the same sets ie. dirt hole, step down, mouse hole etc.to trap coyotes during breeding season?

How do you dispatch the catch? I usually use a .22 but didn’t see you with any firearm. I tried other means on smaller game but tend not confident it would work with a yote. What do you do with blood after you dispatch? Is it necessary to remove it?

Personally, I have used choke poles, difficult, 22 shot in head, blood issues, 22 lungs and heart, more blood when skinning, But best for me.

I see he always has a pistol on his right hip. I am guessing a 22 caliber for dispatching.

Would it help to put a dead mouse in the hold with the bait? Have you tried any good results?

Does the blood of a dispatched animal have any (positive/negative) effect on a remade set?

We’ve trapped all over the South and the U.S. All we use is our Mountainman Bait.

Are pan cover unnecessary? New to anything but dog proofs, conibears, and snares.

@@NorthAmericanTrapperTV I'm 58 yrs old and have been trapping since I was 12, I also never used a pan cover or anything like a sponge or something under the pan . I did have problems one time in sand, it won't pack and will migrate under the pan causing trap to not fire. But that was just in pure sand. If I were to use pan covers, I think I would use wax paper or saran wrap. I also don't use gloves, I have in the past but I think it is totally unessassary. Been very successful trapping yotes and fox and cats. Just my two cents! Lol

I noticed you used no pan cover. Can you elaborate on that choice?

No need, Not enough dirt will get under pan to keep it from depressing. I wish I would have invented the pan cover.

Yes it’s called land management
