Nothing shameful bout these traps Duke traps work just fine they will put up just as much fur as any of the trap makers. This does make me excited been waiting to get these
Shameful copy of the Minnesota Brand traps
What trap isn't a copy of another ?
Great video thanks for sharing
Great trap
I'll still buy MBs if i need more
As a WCO, thank you for this
I remember when nobody would tell you how to trap. I am glad that we have a place to learn now. Keep up the great work. I caught 10 coon this last season on the coon buster bait. Pretty good for the 8 acres I trapped.
Thanks for sharing.
Great video thanks for sharing
As a fellow trapper and guitar player I support you Ted !!!!
I miss old Johnny. I was friends with him & his stepson Donnie in the mid-80s when Johnny lived in Needles California. I used to go over just to listen to Johnny share his trapping & treasure hunting stories with me. As a Young Man at only 15, 16 & 17 years old at that time. I felt honored that Johnny would take the time to sit down with me & share his stories with me. He didn't just talk the talk. At the end of the each story, he would bring out some of the treasures he found to show you & Let you hold them. I kept in touch with him after I moved to Southern Illinois until, one day he did not answer his phone and I learned what had happened. When I moved from Needles California to Southern Illinois, I learned that Johnny was a world-famous trapper. Johnny never hinted anything of the kind to me. None of my co-workers (who were Hunters) believed me when I told them I knew him. You only meet someone like Johnny once in a lifetime! I am now 54 years old. Thank you for the great memories Johnny. The great Adventures you took me on as you shared your stories with me will never be forgotten. I was a young man of only 16-17 yrs old at the time but, I will remember them for the rest of my life!
That’s awesome and glad you had those experiences. 🐾
Where do you get those leg waders?
Very informative. I have a Pond in Michigan that's about an acre and I butt up to a golf course and these little buggers are tearing up my shoreline. Now I know what I need to do to make them go away. I thought my dog broke his leg last week when he fell in a rat hole.
Do i really need a drowning rod?
Great job!!
Thank you for the video
Excellent information!! Best I have seen, thanks!
Absolutely beautiful Fishers. They are my favorite catch.
Weight not heavy enough maybe?
How's the pan tension? They look like a great mink trap even and amazing for fox..
Pan tension out of box is probably in the #2 / #2.5 range. They can easily be adjusted by Rod dog or base if needed. Good luck.
@@NorthAmericanTrapperTV Thanks for the information. I'm always interested in new traps coming into our industry. I bought a Duke 550 and like its so far, worked great on good sized boar coon
Are the oil sacs tinctured? All.my oil sacs i dry and the oil is really thick.
Thank you for the video
Awesome video but I have to ask did someone fart @ 5:28? 😂
LOL. I think it was the Cat purr’in. I can promise you that no one shit themselves during the filming process! 😂
most coyotes are not nice
👍👍👍👍👍👍
This video inspired me to start cable restraints at 70. Your Dad’s enthusiasm sold me
That is great. Best of luck out in the field. 🐾
No Pan cover etc ?
Great Trapping Video. Hope you'll catch a lot of fur.❤
I tried snaring. Nothing "fired". Can you go over that more?
Why do you kill them?
i will tell you what Johny Thorpe was one of my biggest idols in my life im a huge follower of him and eddie. I was up their a year ago and the trapping for four days . but i wanted to drop alot more sets in than my partner wanted me to put in. with the fur prices the way they are people arent long linging anymore. its crazy. im am a huge supporter of johny thorpes lines. Im the last long long in ny
Nice catches. That looks very fun
How durable is this product is it hard wearing
This is a man that gets it and cares enough about everyone to voice it and teach it. Thanks Ted
Why are you keeping the cat unless there are new rules, and regulations regarding cats? Really need to take the cats out! Why unless it is due to Illinois guidelines during traping season need to take them out as well. Sincerely! R.S.V.
Please show me how we kept the cat? We have to release every cat we catch in Ill.
Where ya at
Southern Illinois 🐾
I’ve only been trapping for a couple years now mostly self taught besides watching you and couple other and learning how. I’ve got a little problem on with trapping coons. The problem is in dp’s is the coons are pulling their toes off in the traps any suggestions on what I should do to correct this issue? Im not having that happen with possums only coons.
Thanks for teaching
I'd hate to think it takes about $5 worth of store bought bait per set.
That’s one of the positives of being the actual bait maker. Can’t overdo it with bait and my sweat equity pays for it.
Thank you for sharing my friend!
Thanks again for your great demo. Almost same recipe I have. It's all good
We have been trapping all winter and our male to female ratio was 22:1 until the weather got warmer now its done to 6:1. It's this normal for females to hold in the den until the weather gets warmer?
Absolutely 👍🏻
What exactly is the oil sacs and castor? Scrotum? Scat?
Beaver reproduces similar to chickens. Each has a coaca and lack external parts. The oil is for waterproofing their fur and castor gland is used to mark territory and find a mate
Thanks for sharing.. question on something else, how do you keep you fleshing knifes sharp on the cutting side, and do you touch up the pushing side at all.. and how sharp is to sharp
I caught 5 red fox ,and 8 coyotes at 1 location earlier this season with the mb450 os ,which is basically the same as these awesome new dukes and i was impressed with the holding power ,zero foot damage on the fox and held the yotes great, excited to get a dozen of these new duke 450's
👍
Great video! Thanks for not being a wuss and using gloves all the time!!
Thank you Alan for sharing the recipe for making lure. I made my own bait after watching your video and had success with it and now I'm going to try to make my own beaver lure.
