@@mitchellwilliams4337 that sounds fun! I have to work on Saturday. But I’m off Sunday and may take my mom up there and do a little fly fishing with her since it’s Mother’s Day. I’m gonna try and get saturdays off these next coming weeks tho

Mic definitely sounded good! So I don’t have a fly rod yet (waiting on my broken leg to heal) I was thinking of getting that orvis 5wt. All the videos online say a 3 or 4wt would be best. You think I should start with that encounter 5wt? I found a redington path 4wt on Amazon as my other choice. Any recommendations?

I started with the orvis encounter. And just recently upgraded to the echo lift 3wt rod 7’6 length. And I bought the lamson liquid 3wt reel and absolutely love it! Unfortunately my orvis rod broke Sunday and I’d had only owned it for a year! It’s not made for a lifetime. May I suggest investing a little bit more cash and buying something that’s gonna last? When it comes to which weight you wanna buy.. that’s totally up to you! If you’re trout fishing little streams go with the 3wt. But myself I like fishing my 3wt on the clinch and catching 20+ inch fish in it. Bobby likes to use his 5wt. But to me it doesn’t matter.

@@TheTroutGuy1 oh that’s too bad about the encounter! I’ve watched a lot of good reviews on it. But the reviews are good because of the price point of the rod. Suggestions are always welcome! I just find that the price of rods jumps from 200/300 to 700/800

Man I haven’t fished either! I just moved here from Florida. I mostly fish Watts Bar. Been laid up for over a year with a broken leg. As soon as I’m good to go I’m buying my fly rod and getting out there. Been watching your videos to get ideas. It will be my first time fly fishing and also my first time at either the clinch or telleco
