    Hi mate. The "CATCH CAN" you are showing is an OIL SEPARATOR ProVent 200. Its size is good for up to 200 KW. A better choice in most cases would be a ProVent 150, which is much smaller and has 20 mm ports for in and out hoses. Neither of them is a catch can. It is an oil separator, which requires continuous bleeding, ideally with the slush getting collected in a separate container installed somewhere below, where it can be emptied less often. Thanks for the video, OIL SEPARATORS do help your engine. For those who are planning to install one on an engine that has less than 150 KW, check the size and the ports diameters and the overall size of the ProVent 150. It might be better for you. Filters last for 1000 engine hours, they can be even installed tilted up to an angle of 45 degrees from horizontal. And don't forget to remove your intercooler while at it, and clean it from the inside and outside too, with technical benzine, or solvent spray (break rotor cleaner). Let dry out completely before starting the engine! This will get the efficiency of your intercooler back to normal. Thanks for the video. Be good. Eddie

    G’day Scott, welcome back mate. She’s certainly tight for space under the bonnet. Bloody brilliant winters day today here in South East Queensland. I’ll be keeping an eye on the can to see how it performs, I’ve heard good reports about this particular brand so I’m very optimistic 👍🏻 I was really surprised with how much muck was already accumulating in the OEM vent in such a short time. I’ll sleep better now that I know the big rig is breathing some clean air. 😎

    Great Video for those of us that are not sure about fitting them. The only thing thatworries me is that once you fit one of these you then void all warranty on the engine. I asked the ford mechanic when my 2018 went in for its 15000km service and thats what he said, so i have been a bit worried about fitting one since.

    Interesting. I asked Ford for confirmation in writing that it wouldn't invalidate the warranty on my 2015 PX ranger. I got it (2017) then installed the Provent 150 and FM kit. *Edit* Just thought I'd throw in I'd heard horror stories of additional pressure and blown seals and the like but it seemed most likely that they'd been installed in reverse. Makes sense with that context.

    @@RoundTheFire Hi, last week I was able to see the first Raptor registered in Spain and did notice that some details are different then the Asian market specs. It comes standard with a roll bar/spoiler like the Wildtrack, as well as a rolling cover on the bed, with 2 crossbars. But I also noticed that the space behind the rear seats is gone. And the tub had an indent, filling up the space behind the rear seats, and thus creating a nice space for some Lithium battery packs. Maybe there are other differences that I haven't spotted yet, but I will let you know. Regarding the front view. I think it should be easy to add a small camera in the front, and mount an input signal selector. This will then either feed the rear camera signal to the sync-3 or (when reverse signal switches off) the front camera signal. As the camera screen is delayed for x seconds, or when driving a certain speed, it would be able to change rear to front camera when changing from reverse to drive mode. Total hardware below 50EUR.

    Doesn't actually void the warranty as long as any aftermarket products/parts that is installed isn't the cause of the malfunction. Well worth the purchase especially with how fine the injectors are on the new WildTracks identical to the Raptor.

    Do you think the gas after the can is good for the Engine? I think it is not good at all because it is CO gas or steam whatever...and it can not be fired again. Turbo is for getting Oxygen to support the fire in the piton, and the gas after the can is not oxygen. So i think we should let it go out of the turbo to protect our engine.

  • @RoundTheFire

    @RoundTheFire

    4 жыл бұрын

    G’day mate. None of it is really good for the engine, however the cab allows you to take out as much of the oil residue you possibly can keeping that all out of your turbos and intercooler. The best option would be to vent direct into the atmosphere as was previously the case with vehicles but now due to emission laws it’s illegal here in Australia to do that. Not such a bad thing considering the future for our kids 👍🏻😎🇦🇺

I’ve even removed the standard Airbox completely and replaced the entire unit with an aftermarket customAirbox and pod filter, still no issues with getting stuff fixed on warranty? It’s best to talk to your dealer first where you get your vehicle serviced as they are the ones who initially decide if a repair is covered by warranty. Most of them are happy to have a chat, if they aren’t find a better branch.
