For those of you who just don’t know how to pronounce Crappie …The genus name Pomoxis literally means "sharp cover", referring to the fish's spiny gill covers (opercular bones). It is composed of the Greek poma (πῶμα, cover) and oxys (ὀξύς, "sharp"). The common name (also spelled croppie or crappé) derives from the Canadian French crapet, which refers to many different fishes of the sunfish family. Other names for crappie are papermouths, strawberry bass, speckled bass or specks (especially in Michigan), speckled perch, white perch, crappie bass, calico bass (throughout the Middle Atlantic states and New England), and Oswego bass. In Louisiana, it is called sacalait (Cajun French: sac-à-lait, lit. 'milk bag'), seemingly an allusion to its milky white flesh or silvery skin. The supposed French meaning is, however, folk etymology, because the word is ultimately from Choctaw sakli, meaning "trout".

Who the heck fries shrimp with batter and doesn’t peel the shrimp. Come on, you have to be smarter than that. How are you going to eat them and enjoy the shrimp. How is the batter supposed to stick and create a coating on the shrimp. Have you not had fried shrimp in a restaurant, did it have shells on it?

Ken I was thinking about your whole Rusty problem recently and whether to get a used van. Have you thought about just doing a car rental on a new van for a couple of days at a time? You could take the rental cost off your taxes, live in a brand new van, and at the same time do a review of a newer van for youtube. You could alternate models like Kia, Toyota, Honda, etc etc. It might be cost effective for you if Rusty goes out.

Well it looks like a fun time but next time you need to half or quarter your mushrooms that way they will each get more coating and be crispier and they won't stay as hot as long so you can eat them sooner... And what's up with buying the pre-cooked shrimp?... Your shrimp shells were already pink /orange and the meat was already white and cooked... But I'll pass on eating the shell... But hey... "To each their own"... Looks like you had fun. That's the most important thing...👍

Right! Geez I noticed that too. I can see having to peel the shell if the shrimp was boiled but when it’s fried the shell has a crisp chip texture. Most Chinese restaurants the have fried shrimp, the shell was deep fried shell and all and it’s good.

My god the amount of shrimp genuises in the comments. Get over it. Wait until they find out you can eat a fish fried with bones, brains might explode.

Yall are too worried about him frying the shrimp with the shell on. Its not that odd. When its fried itll just turn crunchy like frying a whole fish and eating the tail. Anywho me personally im not a fan of crappie. Love catching them i just dont like their texture. With that being said ill eat them but id choose just about any other fresh water fish over crappie any day. Im in the minority with that😂
