Same. Been here since way back I think he should be 3 million but if I'm not mistaken he's got more than bill dance and I believe he deserves that. Richard is by far the Greatest fisherman ever. You know I heard that he can pour out a bottled water and get 2 crappie and a flathead out of the puddle. The man is a machine wooooo 😅

@@jonboatmorava9115 Honestly I think the only reason he’s not over a million subscribers is because he doesn’t do social media… But I kinda like it that way. You attract a lot of unwanted attention that way. I live about an hour and a half from Geraldine Alabama where he lives and I went riding and looked at Guntersville lake. It looks freaking awesome! I live like 20 minutes from Chickamauga lake which is like one of the best lakes in the United States right now. So I’ve never fished Guntersville but it’s definitely on my to do list… lol That’s the place to be for monster flatheads though.

My late friend and fishing buddy, Billy, introduced me to the green pumpkin green lizard when we fished the local rivers here in eastern NC. He was a well seasoned bass fisherman in this area. We caught many a bass in all seasons with it. We used mail weights in the head I sent him off with one in his shirt pocket.‘I still use them in our favorite fishing spots. Thanks Billy.

Am I the only one who dreads the fact that these videos don’t go on for hours? I could watch this man fish all day long. Two years ago I didn’t even know how to put line on a reel and rod. Today I went creek fishing for a few hours and caught 7 or 8 bass. I’ve never had anyone else in my life teach me how to fish. Everything I’ve learned about fishing has come from this man. God bless Richard Gene.

"I've lowered water levels with this bait." That's Richard. I believe him utterly. No, not udderly. 🙄 That creek sort of reminded me of Bull Run Creek in Knox County, Tennessee. We used to have a ton of fun fishing that creek. I caught one of the biggest channel cats I ever caught in that creek. I dunno how much it weighed but I'm sure it was over 10 and fat as a barrel. I bet few kids fish it now. It had everything. Bringing back those memories is always a good thing, Richard. I sure thank you for it. It's good fer ye.

I'm so crippled up my fishing days are over but I still get a little fun out of watching fellows like you out there catching fish. Last year I was able to go a couple of times to a pond near my house with my next door neighbor. He caught a 17 pound catfish out of that little pond. Unfortunately the man that owned it has passed away and we no longer have access. Keep on fishing till you get reeled in to the big lake upstairs.

Richard, they were called Tennessee Handles, made famous by Billy Westmoreland. I still have an early Lew’s with a graphite Tennessee handle. Instead of wire I used fiberglass packing tape as a base that didn’t stretch and then a layer of thick electrician tape from one end of the handle to the other. I preferred the matte finish on the tape rather than the shiny. I still have the rod and take it out just for the found memories. Bass Pro at one time sold a Billy Westmoreland Boron Rod with a Tennessee handle. I still have that rod also. Lots of memories of fish caught. We fished at night with Moonglow lights, then UV black lights came out by Stan Slone. Great memories!

One of my favorite plastics of all time is a zoom lizzard in this color or most of all blue flash that you can't seem to find anymore and rigged almost the same way. I can pick 4 soft plastics of old that i'd be content with. These, brush hogs, flippin' tubes in green pumpkin or pumpkin usually and a pearl white fluke. I also remember my daddy doing awful good on a purple or black worm with red bead spinners on them. Gotta love the classic lures.

Love the video. I always liked light tackle creek fishing. If you don’t mind a suggestion, when you show how to tie knots and rig your tackle, it’s very difficult to see when you use clear monofilament line against a your white shirt. Try using chartreuse line instead. Much easier to see. Just a thought.
