When i played Bear back in OG Cata. I learned very quickly that Dodge and Stam were the two most needed stats. I had 38% dodge and most fights in dragon soul we only needed 1 tank because stacks would fall off me as the bosses would miss me so often. Then, armour comes from stam, HP, so, huge HP pool and high armour means the hits you do take are mitigated well.

Ty! Finally found somebody who plays the class . Hope you make more content, theres like 0 feral content creators who actually play it. New to the class as our 10m needed somebody to run it so trying to catch up

OH I FORGOT CONSUMABLES omg for your flask, use either the Flask of the Winds (300 agi) or Flask of Steelskin depending on your needs. for your combat potion, use Potion of the Tol'vir (1200 agi for 25 seconds) for your food buff, either bum a Seafood Magnifique Feast (90 main stat + 90 stam) or bring Skewered Eel (90 agility + 90 stam)

Rule of thumb is having enough HP to take 2 boss hits then your next stat is agi your using agi food/pots *Agi is bis because is gives you Crit/armor/Dodge witch are 3 huge things for feral the more you crit the more sheild procs also every time you crit you get 5% Flat HP back if your reforging Im pretty sure your reforging to dodge, I could be wrong but ive heard alot of diff things from diff ppl who all make videos eaither way im excited in the guild im playing my bear on were running a prot warrior (my buddy) so im assuming at the start bear will be better main tank atleast at the start until more gear later on bear is looking amazing!

Agility no longer gives you armor in cata. Still it's the best stat, but sucks you don't get armor.

Losing out on 9% damage reduction feels like a large price for Blood In the Water. Since that talent choice was such a shocking one, I was hoping you would give it more context. My assumption is that this is your off spec and that you don't run a full cat spec for single tank fights?

yo ty for the comment. if you feel like you need more dr from the talent, feel free to take it. i chose to put blood in the water in that build as a more OT centric selection. its a good chunk of damage and makes the cat rotation way less annoying to upkeep. obviously it isn't going to be the best talent choice on a lot of fights, but it will be more beneficial than dr on some encounters. top of my mind encounters are Halfus/Ascendant Council/Theralion + Valiona. They didn't hit too hard in 359 gear. if you're progging in pre bis, play dr to be safe. hope this helps! gl.

Nerd in the comments here :D - I'd argue leatherworking is the best second profession. Since there is no new stamina enchant on bracers you get a lot more raw stats from leatherworking than other professions. Great guide otherwise, thanks!

I disagree with stam > agi. Its an empty stat for when you cat dps (which is a lot) and it only soaks healer mana while agi mitigates physical dmg by giving dodge, ap and crit for our mastery. I also dont know why you dont even consider -spell dmg taken talents over dmg talents for pure tank builds. You also need infected wounds in all offtank scenarios. 90% of the time when you offtank mobs, they are not getting debuffed by the other tank, so you need to apply attackspeed slow and demo shout. Also you can enchant your gloves beyond synapse springs. You havent really adapted to the cata meta yet, this guide needs serious revision

yo thanks for commenting. like i said in the guide, it isn't always one stat is better than the other in every way. for prog on heavy hitting fights, you're going to favor stam. on farm or fights where you're going to have higher cat uptime, choose more agi. its based on your needs and what role you're filling/encounter you're fighting. also stam isn't a completely dead stat that soaks healer mana, idk where you got that opinion from. i do agree that have too much of it is bad, but choosing to completely boomer out and play all stam is fine and will get you through the content. stam also provides ap in the form of vengeance, so it still has some value. i will personally be playing all agi tho in my raids as my healers are very good and my main tank is very good to maximize my dps in cat form. i do agree, looking back at the talents, i didn't notice that i hadn't selected the spell dmg reduction talents. this is what i would recommend instead for a solo boomer defensive build (not having anyone putting up attack speed reduction): www.wowhead.com/cata/talent-calc/druid/-2302322311310001120311-020331 can choose to have either the haste from the feral charge talent or more pulv crit uptime. up to you and your wants, much like anything suggested in this guide. with infected wounds, i personally feel its not needed in most of scenarios where you are offtanking. On Ascendant Council/Magmaw/Halfus/Valiona + Theralion (the fights i've done on beta), I never felt like "man, i really need to have this talent to stay alive". I think there are better talent options in the tree and you needing a single target application of attack speed reduction maybe needed in certain case uses, I don't see it valuable as a blanket recommendation of every build. there are many other forms of attack speed reduction in a standard 25 man raid comp, unless you are running with double feral with no arms warriors or any dps dks, you don't need infected wounds. if there is an encounter where you are on your own in a corner with mobs, then sure, drop cat talents to play infected wounds to apply the debuff if you feel you need it. for glove enchants, having primary stat on use on a 1 min cd is way more valuable than expertise/whatever glove enchant there is, especially for a tank that will frequently off tank. it is the best enchant in the game and will forever be locked into the glove slot. ty for your comments, i appreciate the feedback.
