There are so many people losing their homes because of rent increases. In Los Angeles, rentals doubled, sometimes more. People have to make these kinds of choices. The shelters here are in a crisis due to this. It's sad.

My girl was dumped at the humane society too. What was worse is that they kept her sister (litter mate) and the dog. They’d had she and her sister since they were kittens. She doesn’t like being picked up, so I suspect they got rid of her when they had to move because they didn’t think she was very “loving”. This was a couple of months into the pandemic. Their loss is our gain. She purrs like an outboard motor, loves having her belly rubbed, loves to be brushed, makes all the biscuits and will take over my lap for hours. They missed out on all of the love she has to give.

Thank you for adopting this beautiful lady. She may be 10, but that's not old for cats. Hopefully, you'll be together for another 8 years, if not longer. As you've already seen, cats are very intuitive and will comfort you if you're not well or upset. I had one that would paw my chin and reach up to lick my tears and purr to help me relax. She would curl up on my lap and hold my hand in place so that I would scratch/rub her belly, which is also a great way to relax. As your bond with her grows, you will discover what she likes, and she you. Every cat has its own personality, just like dogs, and some will even talk and hold a conversation with you. Enjoy this precious girl, and I hope you have many happy years together. ❤🐈🐈‍⬛

I'm so grateful to you for taking her. I can only imagine what she must have felt when her family left her! She absolutely knows how much you love her and I hope you all have many more years together! ❤

God bless you for adopting her. My heart breaks for any pet that is abandoned by their people. Ive never understood why people say we had to move and couldn’t take my pet. My thoughts are move where you can take pet with you. Its an excuse. It makes me livid. Thank you for opening your hearts and home for that sweet baby.

Our last four rescues have been full grown cats. Our newest kitty came from a foster home...those people adopted 5 strays. We aquired OhDee from them. He is my buddy.
