Great review! You covered so much and actually showed the phone in use that other reviewers never show

I hate how everyone that reviews this phone doesn't do more than a fast desk view of the thermal. No one takes it out in real life and does night shots and night distance shots. Or view hot and cold water lines. Etc.

@@ytanonymity3585 i own it. i use it to find animals when i go hiking at night. the thermal resolution is crap, so don't expect HD, but it is very good at finding animals, even at range. they will be blurred of course, but hey. also, you can measure the temp of everything from distance. i tried it on heaters, fish tanks, etc. it was quite precise.

@@insanecuckooman8342 thank you for the info! Overall with everyday use like gaming, pictures, speakers, ect. Is it good? I am on a constant mental debate on whether I should get it or not. I'm a physics student and do science experiments as a hobby so would these features on this phone be good for me? Also how is using Android Oreo in 2021?

I also own one, and use it for radiator flow and consumer unit hot spots, its awesome.

You can check the continuous operation of the thermal imaging camera for 30 minutes, so that the battery does not discharge, turn on for charging. If possible, remove these 30 minutes of the smartphone to another camera, after the video, squeeze up to 1 minute and put on KZread

Why do some CAT S61 phones show 10m next to the laser on the back and some show 8m ?

This phone seems to be able to do everything a normal phone can, with added tools and durability and the waterproofing

Minus staying charged without being plugged in for more than about an hour and a half. If you read reviews online for it you'll see and I don't think the manufacturer either gives a crap about it or has any clue with what's wrong but there's something wrong with them. I will never buy another caterpillar phone as long as I live this was a waste of money. Don't buy this junk. There are way better products you can find in this price point and if you're worried about dropping it get a shock resistant case. The thermal camera not worth the money it doesn't give you much of a variance I'm an iron worker and one eye heat up iron and what to watch to see when it cools it's just telling you the temperature compared to outside air it will be glowing white hot on the phone and it's 20° higher than ambient temperature not enough to even scald you.

I have the cats61 good phone,but they only thing I don't like is the push button feature at the bottom,I'm allways cleaning dust out .

This rugged phone has some very special features as thermal camera and laser distance meter and can not so simply reviewed holding it in hand in a top of a desktop.

Otg to HDMI cable works with s61???

Great, not want to spend too much money on it, can you review Poptel P60 ? Cheap in term of price and unbreakable features.

Download a different launcher from the play store. Then when you press home select the new launcher. Download different ones until you find the one you like best

I'm a little late, and replying on my S61. Caterpillar doesn't advertise, because the people who need the phone are already looking for it. This isn't something you're trying to sell to the average consumer. It's something that specialists look for. Your average person isn't going to need any of these features. A construction worker can use the PTT, laser measure, FLIR Camera, and so on. A Foreman, Superintendent, Site Supervisor, or someone else can use it for calculating material costs, equipment rentals, PDF readers, Punch Lists, Inspection tools, and some other construction related stuff. Someone in agriculture also has the related tools at hand. They have an App called the Toolbox that lists the apps for the professions that use it. Even Law Enforcement/SAR can use it, since it can handle hot/cold temperatures for long periods of time, and has a thermal imager.

Does it have a built-in or removable battery?

Had 2 S61. First one broke before it got to 6 months old. 2 one broke just after 2. Slow. Laser has never worked but Bullitt Group have ignored that issue. Recommend not buying till they sort out the Android 9 issue. Currently just a very expensive dumb phone. 4G, 3G doesn't work

Don't buy this piece of crap I've had one for a year now and I sent it back to the factory because it had a problem with the charging the battery completely drains from full charge in like 20 minutes I think the factory just kind of stuck it on a shelf for a couple of days and send it back to me cuz it still has the exact same problem. I bought this phone because it was a little cheaper than the fancy ones and because I'm a industrial worker and I need one that's tough it's tough except for that battery fails. It's garbage save your money. I could have had something much better for the same price and just put a tough case on it now I'm stuck with this thing that weighs about three times as much as a regular phone it needs to be plugged in constantly.

I am a woman, and I do like this phone. Engineers, oil experts, architects, agricultures, mechanics, womanly of the womanliest too.
