And what's so funny is that costco just put this item for sale at the price of 99.99. And i did a simple Google search, and your video came out first. Great content, great information 👍 thank you. Also, i have a 2020 kia shortage, a small suv, so i think it will work great for me!

    Ok so stupid question here. If this is just powered by a standard pack of 18650 batteries, and if there is room in the case (which there seems to be), could I add another pack of 5x 18650 batteries inside the case, wire it in, and expand the total capacity of the case? I guess I mean wiring in parallel, not in series.

    If you over power the AC outlet it'll blow a fuse inside. The AC function will show a caution symbol. It's an easy fix tho. You just need to take it apart and replace the 25 amp fuse. It entails a little bit of soldering. . .

    Tim, I connected on a previous post about this product. My question is, how long does the charge last? I used this a few times, and I feel like the change didn't last long. I charged just my android phone, and the battery power went down very fast. This was after I fully charged the device to where the numbers said 11.8. Is this right? Or should I exchange it?

    I watched this in Costco before buying. I had a dead battery. I fully charged, but when I went to jump my car, I couldn’t get a light of any color (red or green) on the indicator. Customer service wasn’t in on Sunday so I waited until today today and can’t get through. I’m about to lose my mind over this because it seems like the perfect solution and I must be doing something wrong. 😂 but I think since now I’m finding out there is no customer support, I should just take it back while I’m just stranded in my own garage and find a better solution for next time when it’s worse.

    The manual states. To boost a battery it has to have at least 2v. So if your battery is totally dead it will not boost it.

    @jasonbroom71477 ай бұрын

    That unit uses lithium polymer cells, which have a nominal voltage of 3.7 volts. It says the pack is rated for 11.1 volts, so it is using a 3S arrangement of some type, with 3750mah cells. (11.1v *3.75ah=41.7wh) With such limited storage capacity, and a (likely MSW) 200w inverter, this thing sucks as a portable power station. As a tire inflater, it was truly uninspiring, taking more than 10 minutes to inflate a single tire. As a jump-starter, it won't start a Ram 1500 V8 engine? All of this and it still costs $140? I'd get a VTOMAN or NOCO, instead.

  • @rolandm9750

    @rolandm9750

    6 ай бұрын

    Yeah he made the mistake of thinking there were cylindrical cells in there when it didn't look anything like a pack of cylindrical cells. Indeed it's just three Li-Poly cells in there which they rate on the "3.7V" number instead of 3.6V to give a spec of 11.1V. So it's really a 10.8/11.1V nominal pack, with peak/OC voltage of 12V. It's one cell shy of where it should be (like most other booster packs on the market) which would be 14.4/14.8 nominal and 16V OC/peak. Really a shame they cheaped out on the battery so badly here. They could have just put *one more* cell in there and designed the charging, etc. to be for a 4S battery pack, and it would have been much better. It wouldn't have gained any more capacity but would be over 50Wh of energy and would also be able to boost vehicles much better from the increased voltage. They definitely packed in a lot of features to the price point, definitely made improvements on the old (SLA) version; but they really missed the mark on the battery. They should have made it like $10-20 more and used a 4S pack.

    I already own this unit and I love it except for the low capacity battery and that it might not boost a truck (boosted an SUV instantly when booster cables weren't working for some reason). So I wanted to ask if anyone can recommend a similar but better all in one unit with the for-mentioned 4S battery pack? I want to recommend something for my Dad and others to buy but this CAT one is the best one I'm familiar with. Doesn't have to have huge capacity, no one I know is gonna spend $300++ so makes more sense to own a fairly affordable all in one unit and a specialized battery bank for charging devices (the AC backup power is nice but most ppl only need that in a pinch - most ppl just need to charge phone/laptop) - so a cheap USB battery bank is better for multi-day charging than such an all in one unit.

I would honestly pick up something like like the 250 W power, smart powerstation or if you got a little money to invest in one of the Bluetti ones would be great to.

    From what I have discovered, a lot of devices don't like Anker products. My daughter has one of their USB-C cords and you have to literally have it flipped over one way for it to charge and play music. If you unplug it from either my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, or her tablet and flip the plug over, it will only slow charge, and many times it won't even do that. So, it appears that the pins are set up a specific manner. No, I do not know the model number of the cord, I just know it is junk,... or rather finicky. I have also seen a lot of other not so good reviews on Anker products.

    So the totally capacity is 41wh and if they are 18650 cells at 3.6 volt it puts the mah around 11000 which would be about right for the size of the pack I found inside

    With this one, all the returns with is the USB-C port plug in the USB see cable to the port on the box and then plug it into a USB-C port, or an AC adapter for a wall

    Just tried to charge mine, and neither the USB's will work to charge the unit, or go the other way to charge anything else. The AC works. The air works. The light works. It won't charge. What am I doing wrong?

    So CAT just licensed there name on a product they had nothing to do with? I find that hard to believe. I’m sure they had a say in what and how this product was designed. No way a 100 billion dollar company would have no say in a product they sell at one of the biggest stores in the world.
