    Hi first of all thanks for the constant support through your videos. I am a regular student of yours. I want to point out that there is a set pattern that first RC questions appear and then the VA questions. In all the AIMCATs this is the pattern thag has been followed. So, should we ignore the strategy for 1st minute mapping?

  • @Shweta-Arora

    You can surely take another mock series and even take 2 mocks a week basis your comfort level. If you have 2 mocks a week, use the timespan b/w 2 mocks (3-4 days) to work on a particular topic, the idea remains the same..

    Watched this video after a day of release cause I wished to practice few VA questions and write a sectional before watching this. This video helped me redirect my thoughts after the section. Thank you for teaching me the right technique to map the paper cause I did it in a messy way. I get exhausted after solving 2RCs in that pressure but yes the way you mentioned, 2 5 and 1 4 was a rhetoric way to push me towards my dream score. VARC being my strongest, I have never ever taken it for granted and following you has to be my best decision Shweta di. thank you for always pushing me to do it.

  • @Shweta-Arora

    Felt really inspired after reading your comment, Swarnika.. Glad to know that you're making use of the techniques :)) The pace-up technique is less to do with the central theme and more to do with our level of concentration. Whenever we start reading a passage, it takes more time to focus our concentration on those initial paragraphs. As and when we read more of the same passage, our level of focus stabilizes and hence it takes lesser time. As an aspirant, you just have to train your brain to pace-up irrespective of the genre of the passage.

    Hey Shweta Di! I'm reappearing for CAT this year, last year I scored around 68 percentile with 89 in VARC, being the best of all, others were pretty bad. Now, day before yesterday I took my first full length mock, where I could score only 42 overall, being 26 in VARC and 8-8 in both DILR and QA. It's almost the same as I used to get last year in mocks, it just discouraged me so much. I've completed whole arithmetic but haven't started with other topics in quants yet. My condition right now doesn't sound very appealing I know, how should I control wrong attempts in VARC? The test I talked about, there I had 10 correct and 7 wrong and also how to tackle the other two secs.?

    Hey Anjali, there are a lot of variables that could be different in the mock you took this year vs last years mocks, so would suggest not to overthink basis one mock's performance. In QA, if you haven't finished the syllabus yet, your attempt will get compromised, ultimately lowering the score, so try finishing the syllabus. In VARC, your main issue seems to be with accuracy - try understanding why an option was marked as the correct one using elimination method (analyze the mocks for this). In DILR, just practice more. That's the only way to get better at it. Overall, don't panic, stabilizing the mock scores takes some time and you need to take ample mocks for that. Don't judge your performance yet..

    Hi Di, I had a doubt During your TIME coaching, did you ever feel lack of personalized attention as their batch sizes are big? In the coaching survey you shared earlier, almost everyone from TIME wrote same- lack of personalized attention. What's your stance on this and inspite of this if one decides to take coaching from TIME due to other reasons, how to overcome this limitation?

  • @Shweta-Arora

    @Shweta-Arora

    2 жыл бұрын

    To be honest, I didn't know what personal attention was needed for. The class size is about 30-40 students and you just go there to learn concepts. Rest is your practice. Personalized attention may be needed for doubt solving but no coaching institute invests so much time in individual doubt solving (at least I'm not aware of any). There's no limitation if you think about it. Most preparation material will have detailed solutions, you can always google the same questions too. And if you ask doubts in the classroom from the last class's worksheet, then the teachers surely take it up.

    See you'll have to increase your attempts for sure and the only way to do that is by covering your syllabus. If you've already done that, then spend some time revisiting the formula book (if you haven't maintained one, then just go through the concepts/theory of each chapter). Then use the rounds technique mentioned in the quants video to attempt more questions - kzread.info/dash/bejne/gKKY16qNhKywgLw.html Once your attempt rates stabilize, then work on accuracy by using sectional tests.
