My cat, Sky is going through 4th round of injections after 2 relapses. 84+28+28+(currently) another 84. Our family is so devastated but it will be even more devastating to put him to sleep. Do pray for Sky and our family ❤️ Sky has another 40 injections to go.

Aslan is so handsome. In the past, I had a male Maine Coon named Gato, but whenever I looked at his regal face, I always thought of Aslan from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe book, which I read as a kid. Thank you for sharing this story about Aslan. You posted over a year ago. How has he been more recently? I have a 10 month old cat I just adopted 3 weeks ago, and last week he was diagnosed with wet FIP, so we are just beginning this journey of treatment. There are many amazing people out there to help others get through this FIP journey, which my very kind vets steered me towards. So grateful they did, and even more grateful for this extremely supportive community. Today was day 3 of injections. Not easy, but here we go ....! Really hoping the FDA approves this treatment SOON!!

So happy for you and your cat. Doctors and Vets will not step out of their comfort zones to offer other treatments. Thankfully, you found the medicine, and I will pray he makes a full recovery. Sadly, I went through a similar experience when my Bengal cat caught Bob Cat Fever from a tick bite. The Vets had never heard of it before, and did not believe me. I researched on the Internet, and found a Vet that was doing research on this fatal disease for domestic cats. It was very difficult finding the medicine. $600 for one small bottle. She was in ICU over a week. She is alive and well today. And my Vets still don't acknowledge what she had!

Thank you for sharing your story! We lost our Amy with 7 month,because I did not know.I found the FIP groups on facebook 1 day after she passed!

I am so sorry to hear that.. yes there is a medicine for it but unfortunately it is still not approved by FDA, so many people don't know about it!

How much is the drug? My beautiful Norris was put to sleep last week, he was so advanced with wet FIP that he could no longer jump on to the couch, fell off steps and just walking made his heart race and he had to stop to pant. He was THE most beautiful and affectionate cat, we used to say he was a dog trapped in a cats body, he followed me everywhere, when I stood up he put his arm out to hold my hand, he used to put his arms around my neck and constantly wanted to be next to me. God bless he was only 3 yrs old and to watch him decline over Christmas broke our hearts but I COUNDN'T watch him suffer anymore and like you my vet told me there was no treatment and by the time I found out about the GS drug it was too advanced. I'm so happy Aslan is ok.❤

Aww poor Aslan.. That must have been so stressful for you. I'm glad that you didn't give up on him and kept looking for a solution. It looks like he is doing better. Let's hope everything will be fine within the next few months as well ❤️😸

My buddy is on day 8 of GS. I’m so happy Aslan survived. I can’t wait for the day my buddy is on observation. In case anyone was wondering how to be a super awesome pet parent, THIS GUY IS A GREAT EXAMPLE!! He advocated for his buddy, he did the research, and he observed the emotions of his buddies. The world needs more wonderful pet parents like this ❤️

your very lucky dude.. I lost my 2 year old female Maine Coon 4 days ago, she survived it as a kitten, but it can return ... she got sick at 1pm wednesday, and she died at 2am thursday morning ... I'm absolutely devastated..

So happy hearing your cat is getting better. I am praying he can have a full recovery. My 9 month cat also had FIP. But it was too late when finding out. He already had a liver failure. I am really sorry and regret I didn’t notice these signs earlier

I recently had to put my cat down because of FIP. Terrible disease, I don’t wish it on any cat or cat owner. No current treatments available in the United States :/

Good on you for persisting and not just obeying what the so-called doctor recommended.

I wish I had seen this video sooner! I am just sick 💔 we had to put our 10 month old kitten to sleep 2 days ago due to FIP. Our vet told us The was experimental treatment on the black market but very expensive.. he didn’t give us much hope and he had already stopped eating and was so weak.. we felt euthanizing him was our only option.. I loved him so much!

That treatment you gave your cat is Very expensive. I'm glad you could afford it and save your cat. I could not save mine.

@@gildajob2794 Sending love and hugs to you...my baby passed away 3 days after his birthday as well. his bday was april 27,2022. on the 30th he had to be put to sleep. he started having seizures and lost his ability to walk. i wish i could've saved him.

I have had a stray family they are inside outside cats come and go, live nearby me or at the rooftops and etc. Everyone is fixed, there is this ginger boy he is been getting sick and etc and into fights I have been helping him alot and it gets okay. Recently he just came back to me I feel like his belly a bit swollen, a bit enlarged appetite is okay, I am kind of worried as I randomly came across this last night, what tests or X rays can be done for to be sure please, guide and help? Looking forward to a reply.

How is Aslan doing after the treatment and monitoring for the 3 months?

I just lost my Travieso, my 10 month old kitten this morning to FIP, and his brother Gordo 3 months ago. I rescue, foster and I'm a volunteer trapper for my local city's TNR Group. I was never made aware of the possibility of exposing this deadly disease to my own cats until my Gordo passed and I was told he had FIP!!! Now I'm very concerned for my other cats and I really don't know what to do to mitigate this issue I brought home to my fur babies!?!? My Vet informed me that all of my cats have been exposed and that I should keep an eye out for any of the symptoms mentioned in this video. I would greatly appreciate any advice and or suggestions on what to do now that exposure has happened🐾🙏🐾

Hi. I was told that FIP is not contagious to other cats. It’s a mutated form of a common corona virus for cats, but the mutation (the deadly part) itself is not contagious. Just like other genes it can be passed from mom/dad to kittens though. So if one kitten has it, there’s a 50% chance his sibling has it too.

I have a question, since you have other cat which is healthy, how could you deal with them? Did you isolate Aslan during the treatment so they get separated? thanks!

My vet told me to say goodbye to her. But the rescue I got her from sent me to a vet far away who knows about this black market drug. I’m sticking with him. It’s basically remdesivir. That’s what they give humans for covid. But the idiots that own rights to the medicine don’t approve it for cats.

I took my cat to the vet maybe you can help me because she still is struggling to breath they said she has URI and gave her fluids and antibiotics she has a lot of thick mucus in her mouth and and a dry tongue do you know what this could be

the cat has fluid in her lungs if there are problems breathing or around the chest. If the fluid is no drained breathing can stop completely. Is your Cat OK ? been two weeks since your message.

How is your cat now? Did she test negative without treatment? Did the vet say if she has FIP or coronavirus because corona causes FIP. Corona isn't deadly in cats, FIP is.

We got our GS-441524 medicine from FIP Warriors Texas Facebook Group. The brand is Lucky 15mg vials (for injections) which contain 5.2ml each. They cost us $65 USD per vial. We will end up paying about $1,400 for the full treatment. Our kitten gets 1.1ml per injection and is given every 24 hours. The Facebook Group has a calculator that helps you determine the dosage. Yes, our kitten had Wet FIP and he's doing fantastic after 60 days of treatment.

Depends on the case (wet, dry, ocular, and/or neurological, etc), the weight (the heavier the cat, the more meds required) and the brand and form of med (some brands are more or less costly, and the pills are generally more costly than the injectable). For us the meds were about $2100 total for a 9 pound kitty with wet FIP

You should have gotten him tested for that as soon as you got him, before you put him together with the other cat. The I in FIP stands for infectious. Animal shelters normally test for these things before they even adopt them out, so you'll see notes on the cats saying things like FIV positive or FIP positive. Hopefully the other cat is not infected now.
