CAT Challenger 765C & Fendt 724 - Planting Stubble Turnips
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In the middle of July the pea group came in and harvested some of our pea fields. We have decided to put them into stubble turnips for the winter. This video shows our CAT Challenger 765C pulling our Vaderstad Topdown with BioDrill attached. We are planting the stubble turnips directly into the pea stubble. We are using a GPS guidance system by a company called AgLeader. This allows us to drill alternating rows meaning we don't have to turn as sharply, putting less stress on the land and the equipment.
The second half of the video shows us rolling the planted land. We are using our Fendt 724 Vario and a set of 12 metre Twose rollers.
The ‘lines’ or gaps in the drilling are there to break up the plots. When we go in and put electric fencing up for the sheep, it is easier with gaps between so we can get to each plot with a vehicle without running on the crop. We have about 2,500 sheep at Warter Priory Estate. During winter, we need the valleys for shooting so we remove the sheep and put them onto stubble turnips.
Warter Priory is a world class farming operation set in the heart of East Yorkshire amidst 12,000 acres. At Warter, we pride ourselves on our reputation for quality and efficient farming. The main crops we focus on growing are wheat, barley and oilseed rape. We also grow peas in partnership with Birds Eye and some of our land is used for growing potatoes.
This video was filmed using the DJI Inspire One quadcopter. It was edited in Final Cut Pro X. The music in this video is Working Solutions by Olive Musique.

***** Yes it does, and looks so much nicer to the outside world!
awesome video as per usual. Only problem i have is that is too long since your last one. Keep up the awesome work!
That camera captures very smooth videos, also the hovering at 1:07 is very impressive. BTW, here is an ä for Väderstad :)
Great video, really glad to see another video. Thanks.

Nice video... :)
Great video! ;) Big like :P
A well made video. Do turnips grow from seeds? They must be very small. I've never seen a turnip. They grow corn and soybeans around where I live.
tidy job
Awesome videos. Always look forward to them. But I am not sure if I seen this correctly, but did they leave strips that are not seeded? It almost looks like every third row was not seeded, even when he was rolling the field. If that's the case, why was that done? Thanks
Are you planning on getting some gopro mounts on the tractors? love the drone footage
Why don't you sow the strips inbetween the plots in grass that way there is still a bit for you to drive on but also a dry clean area for the sheep to lie on
Warter Priory Estate.... I have a question for ya. Can I please use some of this footage for a project I'm working on? Let me know good sir, looks amazing!

***** It's a website we've made for a local insurance client. I'd be looking for only 10 to 15 seconds of the video for the video banner :).
