Thanks for the comment, yes it's a good grinder, CAT do seem to build good power tools from my initial impression. Time will tell, I will use it over the coming months and see how it holds up 👍

Get the flexvolt grinder you won’t be disappointed. And if you take apart your tools and clean all the dust and dirt and everything else from the inside the switch will probably work better.

Hi Rob, Happy New Year to you and the family too - Let's hope it is a better year for all ! Yes, the guard is fully adjustable Rob via a small tool free clip - I showed it in the video. Did you just skip to the end 😂😂😂 Joking aside, yes it is a good bit of kit, far better than the 18v Dewalt one I have. Looks like CAT are on the ball with their power tools. I like the look of some of their tools especially their big SDS drill - looks like a beast ! Cheers for the comment 👍

I wanted to see how good this grinder is. Would like the corded one though for DIY. I was not sure about it when I first saw it.

I use dewalt grinders no comments! But I have always wanted to try the cat tools. Dewalt does make a paddle trigger grinder

I have the paddle trigger Dewalt 54v grinder and it is brilliant, but was not fair to compare the 18v CAT grinder with a 54v grinder. They are both excellent and the CAT grinder is way better than the 18v Dewalt grinder.

Cat is basically a label brand now. Positek owns it and worx. It's ok but doesn't hold up to real brands. And graphene battery is marketing, they claim it's on the contacts but it's not even mentioned in the msds for the battery. Most likely conventional lipo with parallel charging of several batteries in parallel to make it faster, and some reserve to allow for better performance in cool weather. Bulky though. 5ah is about as big and heavy as 8ah conventional, if not worse. They also have an aggressive marketing campaign, lots of reviews like this one, but not so great reviews from the actual buyers.

Thanks for the comment, I somewhat disagree as the grinder that I tested is a good piece of kit, much better than the 18v Dewalt, but not sure about longevity as I have not had it long enough. Seems pretty good to me though. Thanks for the comment

What power this has , looks mean , is it any good compared to your DeWalt flex volt . Any idea power output wattage it has . Thjanx for the good intro bro , awesome 👍

Hi, I would say that the Dewalt Flexvolt is better than this as it has more power being 54v. But compared to the 18v Dewalt grinder, the CAT grinder is definitely better.

We need this brand in the United States. The Graphene technology’s great. I think they should step up the marketing here in the states. They could really make good money.

Agreed, Graphene looks to be a game changer, but I have not tried those batteries as of yet. Yes, CAT tools do need a marketing push in my opinion, I did not even know they made power tools. They seem to be good quality as well if the grinder is anything to go by. Thanks for the comment 👍

I think they are rebadged under licence. I forget the name of the company that has the licence, but they are obviously highly rated before CAT gave them the licence. You can tell the quality with this as soon as you hold it. Hope this helps !

Sorry John, I forgot to mention the price, they are around £110.00 for the bare tool but you obviously have the battery and charger on top of that. Charger is around £40.00 and the Batteries are around £68.00, so pretty much on a par with most of the main players. I was genuinely surprised with the quality and feel of this, it is a good bit of kit. I like the look of the CAT tools, look pretty stealthy ! 😎👍

@@Bacrenfencing right. No what your saying about the dewalt button its a pain. I've dropped it before and it hit my steel toe cap. Can't really think of many tools that still have a button like that. Its dangerous.

@@johncolquhoun6416 Yes, it's a real P.I.T.A ! I got the 54v Flexvolt grinder a while back and it is a different animal, one of the best cordless tools I own. Going forward I will use the 18v CAT and the 54v Flexvolt on site, The 18v Dewalt will be relegated to the workshop for small tasks.

@@johncolquhoun6416 The slide switch? You're not a real metalworker unless you use slide switch grinders, paddleswitch is dogshit and ruins the dexterity of holding the tool correctly thus actually making it more dangerous than slideswitch in the real world
