Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has watched this and shared their kitty stories. When I uploaded this almost four years ago, I didn't think it would get as much attention as it has. I don't think so. I've seen cats groom each other without liking each other all that much, it isn't necessarily a show of affection just because it's touchy feely, it's simply a human value that being 2nd base level of touchy feely is something only to be done between individuals that like each other a lot.

As strange as this may sound, most domesticated cats are very affectionate and loyal. Basically, if you are nice and caring to them, they will be nice and caring right back to you. No doubt, this cat has the utmost love and respect for its owner. I have had 3 cats over the year, 2 males and 1 female. All of them had different personalities and mannerisms. One thing remained constant; they always loved to be around me. It wasn't because I fed them lots of treats or because I had some special scent. It was because I petted them, I played with them, I let them have their alone time, and when they sought me out, I responded with kindness and affection. Your cats are always speaking to you. Just listen to what they are saying, and you will have a wonderful relationship with them.

Assuming cats can't be loving is a self-fullfilling prophecy. If people don't put enough into the relationship, the cat probably won't decide to to it all themself.

+1luving It's a matter of people who don't like cats in the first place being willfully ignorant about them, expecting them to just show mountains of affection for no reason, then whining about how not affectionate they are. They expect the behavior of dogs or even other human beings out of an animal that is neither then act surprised when it turns out cats won't bend over backwards to them from day one. It's the result of nothing more than simply believing cats are terrible and thus actively working to make sure all cats they ever know are terrible to enforce that belief, repeat ad infinitum . Any cat no matter how pissy they may initially be can be affectionate with anyone as long as said people actually do the research and thus know what the hell they are doing.

I had an orange male cat I named Maximillian, Max for short. Had him for 17 years. He would regularly jump on my shoulder for attention and if I were in one end of my apartment and called him he'd always respond with a meow while he came running over to see what I wanted, no matter where he was. I now have a black cat named Sophie but I miss Max oh so dearly.

We just had to let go our 14 year old pit bull dog. He was the smartest most special dog... if I ever get a dog again, it’d be a pit bull. They’re so misunderstood and mislabeled by society in general. For now, I’ll stay with my orange tabby cat who loves to cuddle. :)

You don't have to train any animal to give and show you love. Animals will treat you the way you treat them. My cats give me this unconditional love that not even my child or husband can give.

well, they are grate, i had a black ugly cat, really, she was ugly like hell, but she was sooo sweet, she knew to take my attention, when i was on couch she always came to me and then she make me a massage on stomach and i don't know how the hell but she knew how to find a spot that hurts and i was feeling much much better after, i guess they know more then we can imagine, it's annoying sometimes to cry but well, that's the cats, we are annoying sometimes too now i have a siamese and god...she really need attention, otherwise gonna push you nerves to limits :))) shes a sweet i don't know how others don't like cats but they are awesome

It may be true, one of the sweetest cats I've met was a smol orange boy, when he was a baby he would jump into my bed and lick me in the face and sleep with me. When I went see him at my grandma's place months later he was fucking huge, but he still loved to be picked up like a baby.

My cat is a common black l picked as an starving kitten and l feel so amazed on how loving, smart and most of all how beautiful and delicate she is. My husband gave me a mouthful then because we could not afford it, but now we are so happy did gave her a home in exchange for such love and companionship. Go for black too...

That cat truly loves you. So cute. My old followed me around all the time. Even if she was sleeping and i went to the bathroom, she woke up to follow me, and i could take her out on long walks outside, with her walking beside me like a dog without leash. And she wanted to lay on my lap all day, and i was not allowed to get any work done. Sadly i lost her a month ago. I think someone took her, and i miss her so much. It's so silent here now

What a sweetheart! He's so determined to give you cat bath.

I used to have a cat just like this. His name was Honor and he looooved hugs. Anytime I would pick him up he would go straight for a hug, and if I tried to readjust him or put him down he would hold on to my neck for dear life. He never used his claws, just stiffen up, not wanting me to let go of him. We had a real bond that I've never had with any other cat. Unfortunately, he disappeared about a year ago..... I still miss him from the bottom of my heart.

Half my cats have been very affectionate. I've had six throughout my life. I thought I'd have to get a baby sling for a couple of them. One is with me right now. He follows me everywhere. It's a little exhausting.

Not really. ALOT of cats can be affectionate. It really depends on the cats personalities. In my experience my cats have been very affectionate. My cat used to wait for me outside when my bus would come to drop me off from school. He also would cuddle with me if he saw that I was sad. Sadly he passed. My cats I currently have are also affectionate and love cuddles.

I had a cat that always waited for me at the bottom of the stairs just so she can bite my feet. She was not a very nice kitty actually 😕

My cat does the same thing its so cute

I had only one tabby that was so affectionate from the day I got him at 7 weeks old. He wanted to be held very tight while he nursed under my arm on anything I wore. He'd kneed and nurse, KNEED AND NURSE. He was a beautiful brown tabby with spots on his belly. He was ALWAYS skinny and LONG with a heavy tail and slightly webbed toes. I had him for a few months over 20 years. I miss him still and STILL find myself crying for him. Our Marcellino who everybody loved. I hope you have this loving little boy for at LEAST that long!! He IS hugging you! The licking tho, that's something my sister's cat did instead of nursing. He's also marking you as HIS! Thankyou so much for sharing him with us! They are a gift when we get them. I only wish they could be here longer. Now I've an all black boy who has a habit of literally lying on me when I'm having a hard day (depression), and licking my nose and arms. My other boy is a "red and white" with one eye. Got him from Egypt. "Fighter" from "Poor Egyptian Cats". He reacts to affection in such a way! Has the beautifully 'ringed tail' most orange cats have.

He is not begging for anything . He's just trying to tell you how much he loves you , .

my cat does that too, except the licking part. Also she begs me to play with her. She has toys but she's only interested to play with them if I am around her. So yea, cats do love people :)

Someone loves his dad, he is a gorgeous boy. My foster cat talks more than I do. I had a lovely cat years ago, who used to lick my hands and arms until they were sore. I miss her dearly.
