Tbh everyone does, I grew up elsewhere as well. Sister Act was so fun, I grew up dancing to that lol and wasn't allowed to see The Color Purple when it came out (30-something)

Wagner Moura did a phenomenal job playing Pablo Escobar. I'm excited to see this movie.

In Brazil, anyone over 20 years old has probably already watched Sister Act and Ghost more than once. I think today she is not soo famous, I mean, among the younger people, but, as mentioned above, she was huge in 90s and 2000s, her films were often broadcasted on TV at this time, that because they had a lot of audience I guess.

Brazilians understand Wagner Moura's feelings so well; Whoopi Goldberg is a LEGEND (and we all watched her so much growing up, Sister Act and Ghost were on ALL THE TIME on local TV here). I'm so happy to see his career getting bigger, he deserves it!

⁠@@zoe6723"since jumanji" is correct. Sorry but some of us were children when those movies were released had parents that would not allow us to watch movies like "vampire" as children. So just because it was released first, doesn't mean we saw it first. The movies were for different audiences.

It's wonderful to see Whoopi in her element, and the rest of the acting panel was phenomenal. Especially everyone geeking out on everyone's talent.

It is. She’s definitely in her element doing these interviews as opposed to discussing the hot topics.

Whoopie is such a gem. I love how humble you are when other actors give you homage because girl you deserve every bit of praise. Kirsten Dunst is also a fine actor and the other two actors were a pleasure to get to know. Nice segment. This movie sounds really intense. I worry people will take it and get fired up in the wrong way given our current situation in this country.

Wagner looks younger now, and better in all ways, that he did as Nascimiento some 20 years ago.

The first time I ever saw Kirsten in a movie was Interview with a Vampire. She was 14 years old.

I’m really excited to see this. I just watched The Pianist recently and it was jarring to see how normal life in Poland so quickly became a hellscape beyond human comprehension. I think this will evoke a similar sense of eeriness and “woah this could happen here.”

When did Kirsten say that? Whoopi said it lol. I think the actors all agreed on what they said. In the broad strokes of left/Dem/right/Rep, this is a political film but not a political film based on ideology as we know it in American partisan politics. That's why Kirsten saying "this could happen at any time" and mentioning Ukraine/Russia and the idea that it could happen anywhere is in line with what Wagner said. I think Whoopi's set-up maybe confused you more. Wagner & Kirsten both said it well (I've seen the film). It IS about politics, in a very broad sense from the country's perspective, but it's not mapping onto any partisan politics, it's just not about that. From the war correspondent's perspective, it is very specific, especially about the politics and ethics of reporting. But it doesn't have a specific partisan agenda, like Wagner said.
