How many calories are there in an apple too? I can't think it's a lot and must be zero fat. It would be terrible to hardly eat at all. Your body needs all the proper nutrition for healthy skin, bones, etc. Notice too that in S2E9 she does eat the apple after reading Adam's letter.

I worked with a young woman in 2004 (long before this show ever existed) who used these "tricks". Her shoulder bones stuck out of her skin so much they looked sharp as knives and she had the whole lollypop head thing going on because she was so sick. She thought she was fooling everyone by shoving food around on her plate and covering it with napkins at the end of the meal. We all noticed, we just didn't say anything because it's work and at work you don't ask people about their personal problems.
@molepole1998
4 жыл бұрын
Koolaid Man I thought I was fooling people at work too until we were messing around in the crew room and I don't know how we got into that topic but one of my colleagues said ”You’re dangerously thin” in a joking way to which another colleague responded ”that’s a bit over the line, she might have anorexia, you don't know, I've never seen her eat” I was kinda shocked and didn't really know what to say. I order food on my employee meal so people don't get suspicious. Because who turns down free McDonald's, right?! But most of it goes into the bin...thing is, didn't think anyone saw, guess they did
@sbjade9812

Koolaid Man I hope she’s alright. Perhaps next time simply ask how she’s feeling, compliment the person or let them know that even though you are colleagues, she can confide in you. Even if it’s work, there’s never wrong place or time to acknowledge someone is struggling or offer a helping hand 💞

That moment when she smiled manically with so much emotion welling up in her voice.. and just said "it's like nobody's fucking business".. it's that anger and overwhelming emotion I connect with so much. And then when she went from saying that to avoiding eye contact and saying "it's not like anybody cares." I felt that to my core. And him saying he cares, the look in her eyes right then said more than I can put into words.

No it's not. Most of them probably just wanted to see if the other person would fall for it. Its a test. A prank. 2020: The people saying they look messy or something like that, the personalities fit with the style, in this case Sid is known for being a super carefree guy, and Cassie just has her hair that way because anorexic girls have a hard time having good hair aesthetics. You can see the difference between the Cassie from Season 1 and the Cassie from the last Season.
@leew1598
3 жыл бұрын
yep Sid is designed to look like he's overslept, just picked a t-shirt of his bedroom floor and flung it on. He usually wears a t-shirt, sometimes a hoody and a backpack. Tony's designed almost the opposite, his clothes always look immaculate in season 1, never a trace of dirt or a crease. He wears chinos, shirts, polo tops and jumpers or cardigans normally, dresses more adult. Cassie's look in season 1 was usually very bright and summer like, she wore lots of white and yellow I remember. It was quite a feminine look too, she used to wear a dress a lot rather than jeans, it all looked quite vintage.

I think people are just used to the glossy American shows view of teenage life with all of the characters turned out immaculately and the female characters having these perfect blow-outs, whereas Sid is played by an actual teenager and looks a bit grimy in the way that a lot of teenage boys are in reality . And I don’t think that Cassie looks all that bad really, but yeah most teenage girls are not going to have perfect beach waves when they’re just sat in the cafeteria at school in the middle of the day

I never realized how clever the writing was sometimes, Cassie pointing out Syd's missing student ID is to distract him and to show the viewers how she evades eating but it also helps highlight how important the student ID really is plotwise and how it becomes important like an episode later The show was always kinda deemed as just teens on drugs doing exagerated partyng but it had a lot of care on his writing, and always forshadowed stuff relatevely subtly
This is the moment when Cassie fell in love with Sid. When he said "I care" it hit her deep inside. Unlike her self-absorbed parents, who seem to care, but it is all surface. You will see in the whole episode that they are more concerned with their new baby son and their sex life and not with their daughter who is on the very edge of life itself.

Focus on her mental state, not her physical state including her weight. It does not matter if someone is hospitalized or how bad their physical state is. Eating disorders are a mental disorder, not a weight disorder. Focusing on weight so much to indicate "how sick" someone is only makes the disordered person want to get "sicker" even more so they can feel valid, loved, and cared about. *Please* show your daughter that you love her and view her eating disorder as just as serious and valid no matter what weight she is at.

It can work both ways. Awareness means showing people without mental illnesses the reality, to educate them. @@gutwounds Woah. Language much? People actually suffer from eating disorders. It's not about having the access to food. Some people end up having problems from self esteem/body images, what people tell them, how social media portrays beauty, and such. That shit can actually affect people. You're invalidating their experiences of having eating disorders. What? All because other countries don't have the same luxury,the access that people in other countries have? Ok,yeah it fucking sucks. But stop comparing the two. That's comparing apples to oranges...plus you literally don't know how to argue. You brought up 3rd world countries and lack of access to daily meals in a conversation about eating disorders. Christ. This is why parents should monitor their little 12 year olds. Oh no. Did I just use a ad hominem? Don't care. I'm not sorry. Get off the internet. You're* btw. And no. You're the childish one.

The Snowflake Diaries it’s a r.e.m reference from the song, it’s about a guy who beat up dan rathers while shouting the sentence over and over again cuz he tought CBNews was sending signals in his head. So whenever a cat fell of the roof and killed an old lady they shout it, or whenever they didn’t understand a homework question people would shout it. It’s all confusing but once you understand it it’s hilarious. I died at that line 💀

why is everyone comparing this show to Euphoria? there’s barely anything to compare, not to mention one is based off of someone’s real life.
I think Cassie liked throwing all that food around so much because for once she had control over the food and not the other way round.
The only character I feel compassion for is Cassie. She reminds me of my closet friend that struggles with eating disorder. Which is true because some teens out there struggle with that and some Adults. She was my favorite character because I feel a connection with what she does because it is realistic

I relate to Cassie a lot (and also quite a bit with Effy) even though there are some good sides like being able to think deeper than most people and being a ‘creative’ person it’s also really lonely and depressing... I wish people would understand that being like Cassie or Effy isn’t ‘fun’ and ‘quirky’ it’s hell being trapped in your own head
