The Casiotone ct-s1 is an overall great offering. It sounds more refined with an added flare of the Casiotone's vintage sound. Kudos to Casio they truly listened to their audience and delivered a well rounded keyboard. 👏🏼🙌🏼💙

Although its 2 years on from the release of this, there still isn't a competitor that offers good playable Wurlitzer and Rhodes sounds, at this price and full size keys. Next step up (in late 2023) is a Yamaha CK-61, but that's £749 and doesn't offer a massive amount more (some limited editing and 3 tone layering).

TOM Pastian 1 second ago If you have experimented with the layering feature, I'm having no results getting layering on many of the tones. I was able to get organ layered with strings, and strings layered with the same organ, and saved that. However, today I tried layering piano with other organ settings and other settings, using the owner's manual on line, but got almost no results. I was unable to even get two tones to combine. All I could get was the main, and the layer I selected had no volume. I tried using the suggested volume keys, and got no volume at all on the layered settings I selected. Any advice?

Was a hard debate whether to get this or the s400 but after watching this I just have to go with this one! the sounds especially the Rhodes and e pianos are too good. I’d rather have truer better sound rather than more functionality. And you can record on it as well which sealed the deal can’t wait to have this in my hands!

Will you make a new version? USBC and stereo outputs seems a quick easy upgrade. And if also you could put some instruments that aren't present it would perfect. No need for 600, 100 or even another 61, just like 20 exclusive new tones

The concept of the CT-S1 reminds me a bit of the E-mu Vintage Keys. Finally something BEYOND that typical General Midi crap! Although I have a feeling that the internal sounds might correspond to the typical GM program change numbers... ;-) I'm really curious if a PRO version of the CT-S1 is about to hit the market in the near future. If yes, then some of the following features should be added (the more, the better) : - Internal power supply - Pitch bend and modulation wheels - At least SOME sort of (back-lit) display! - 5-pin MIDI in/out/thru - Basic synthesizer functions with some sort of realtime filter, envelope and LFO control (sliders like MT-400V or CT-410V) with seperate access to tremolo and vibrato...and a "multiple sound source" engine with ideas taken from... 1.) Vowel-consonant synthesis (advanced dual "squarewave" stuff, PWM) 2.) Spectrum dynamic synthesis (like HT-6000, but with new waveforms...or even multi-samples as a source) 3.) Interactive phase distortion synthesis with lots of different waveforms and a "dual velocity morph" function 4.) An 8-bit sampler section (SK-200, SK-2100) with the possibility to save samples to an external USB storage device - The sampling section should be able to interact with the above mentioned forms of synthesis (think RCM feature of the Yamaha SY77) - Oscillator sync between all four different sources (Who needs a Prophet-5 anyway...?) - Unison mode (CT-6000) - Glide/Portamento (Casio CZ series) - Internal rhythms with the typical old school "drum sound variation switches" (Casio CT-310, MT-52 etc.) featuring "Roland CR-78"-like drum sounds and also sounds from the RZ-1 and some latin/ethnic (!) percussion. - Roland TR-like 16-step drum editor (as in Casio's XW models) - Velocity-sensitive "Simmons"-style drum pads (MT-520, CT-510...but this time even with electronic SDS V drum sounds!) with a custom drummer function (Yamaha PSS-780, PSR-48 etc.), interacting with the internal rhythms (even replacing them if necessary...or adding the self-programmed custom drummer pattern as an additional drum track, if needed). - Ensemble/chorus section (CT-6000), tape delay effects (0,1 bpm steps...with MIDI clock sync) - Wooden side panels (or at least made of high-quality "fake" wood) - A optional sound library should be available via the Casio homepage.

Very nice! Ok let me say this. I've been using Casio for more than 15 years (wk-1630 and XW-P1). What I really don't like in those new keyboards (except the Privia S Series) is their thin acoustic piano sound; it lacks some attack! And with the older keyboards, it's nice to be performing on stage, they rock somehow but the piano sound samples were a little bit short. It seems like the Privia S (1000 and 3000) have solved this problem.
