I have it on a dark blue fabric (not NATO) strap. The one with holes and a buckle. Compared to the S series, this one is pretty heavy with the SS bracelet and it is, like you said, very noisy. The moment you swap your bracelet, it easily becomes your daily driver.

I bought mine on vacation in Japan last year and still really enjoy it. The Bluetooth feature is really nice and time sync is more reliable than Multiband 6 as it works anywhere in the world. Auto adjusting when in a new time zone is almost like magic. Size is perfect for my 7.5" wrist and the slightly flexible (some call it rattly) bracelet makes it very comfortable to wear. I used to have the S100 but prefer this T200 in steel with slightly more weight and a bit nicer looking materials. I know you have and review many watches but maybe keep it for a while instead of flipping it right away.

The S100 is the better option due to the Titanium case and bracelet, so much warmer and more comfortable against the skin. Also the weight is considerably less than the stainless steel T200. The case thickness of the T200 seems to be slightly deeper, no doubt to accommodate the raised dial batons. The lack of Bluetooth on the S100 is not really a problem since there are free mobile phone apps that can replicate the radio time signal anywhere in the world and the watch will lock on to the phone audio signal and correct the time. Either the S100 or the T200 are fantastic watches with a very sleek dial hiding a technological masterpiece. Literally a set once and forget forever type of watch which will run indefinitely so long as it is exposed to light and correct itself daily. Even in the absence of a time correction signal it will only gain or lose a maximum of 15 seconds a month. The case finishing on both versions is excellent. An absolute bargain if you can get hold of one for around $500 including shipping and taxes. Interestingly, even though the watch is intended solely for the Japanese domestic market, my S100 includes CE and UK compliance markings etched on the back.

I couldn't decide between this one and the S100... So I caved and bought both. They arrive tomorrow. I first bought them on eBay but the seller canceled the purchase because Japan's postal system EMS is not shipping to the US right now due to COVID-19. I ended up buying them on Amazon from a seller called "Last Samurai", which charged a bit more but had no other hidden fees, and shipped DHL (which apparently is the only way to ship from Japan to US right now). Ordered about a week and a half ago and they're due to show up tomorrow. Very excited.

@@RandomRobReviews They arrived early today. I'll echo what everybody else says about these watches online--pictures don't do the quality of finishing justice. It looks in every way to be a luxury product costing much more than they do. As for my favorite, that's going to be a bit like picking my favorite child. But just like I thought, the S100 will be for classier occasions because it dresses up a little. The T200 will fit into my collection more as a sports watch. I have 6.25 in wrists, and I wouldn't get anything with a longer lug to lug than this, but I definitely pull it off with the bracelet. I will probably be putting the T200 on a leather and/or silicone band just to add variety.

Always nice to be reminded of that Casio also can make really good looking analog watches. This looks great, with the finish on the case, dial and all. Wouldn't mind to have a similar model in a cheaper basic model without the bluetooth function, but with the same amount of attention to the finish and design of the dial etc.

  • @MarkM58

I own this watch. It is hard to show the finishing on camera. They are rumored to be finished in the same lab as Grand Seiko. You receive a certificate showing it was made on the "Premium Production Line" by specially chosen medalists. Only the best can work on this line. I will also say that my bracelet doesn't rattle.

I guess I'm strange. Never once have I tried to "rattle" a watch bracelet while it off my wrist nor had a watch bracelet rattle when on my wrist. So I think it's odd to discuss rattling a bracelet. Multiband does not "constantly" update. It tries, between Midnight and roughly 6 AM to receive the radio-correction signal. If received, it does not try to receive the signal until the following evening.

I had the light blue version and it's probably one of my picks for a perfect grab-and-go watch. I love that it can link to your phone via Bluetooth to update the timekeeping. I think my biggest problem with the watch is that the finishing is too nice. I couldn't really see myself using this watch as a watch to go out and be active and possibly have the watch get all scratched up. I think this one looks better without any wear and tear on it. Bracelet wasn't too bad for me and I think it didn't weigh much, whether that is considered good or bad is up to you. Ultimately, I ended up selling it and buying a Citizen Promaster Diver. I'm also bummed that eBay added state tax to transactions. Definitely kills the deals on there for me. Back to the watch forums!

According to eBay, the taxes they collect get sent to your state's revenue department. It probably shouldn't apply to international purchases but I don't think eBay cares, they just collect sales tax on everything. You might be able to get it refunded by calling their customer support, but talking to their customer support is like beating your head against a wall and probably not worth your time to do it over 20 bucks. It's not entirely eBay's fault hough. The wayfair supreme court decision means it's going to be harder and harder to buy anything online without paying sales tax.

I just don't understand the appeal of this watch. Can someone describe what it has that makes it attractive to them?

yup very similar , but you can buy 10 T200s for 1 Defy. Though got to hand it to Zenith the defy is a good value in itself .

Jason Schwartz Hi, ive got the defy with metal bracelet. Well i cant say i have it right now, it went to warranty repair ( mechanism inside broke and makes awful noises when you wind the watch ) also i will never ever buy a watch again that has no micro adjustment on the bracelet ) but as many people say you have to make mistakes to learn something in this hobby of ours . Today the only watches im interested in spending money are Islander, Rolex and maybe Doxa :)

Its a great watch. Just too big. Rumour has it that the Grand Seiko factory do the casework on this line. Also the bracelet - this is a Japanese thing - they tend to produce their bracelets with more tolerance than European manufacturers as this A. means the watch is more comfortable straight off, and B. arm hairs are not pinched.

I like the watch a lot, I just have a bit of a problem with the fact they call this Oceanus and then combine it with 10bar instead of 20bar water resistance. Managing expectations
