If you can get away with the smaller 37mm size of the Citizen I would definetly go with that. The strap looks much better quality.

No rotating bezel on the Citizen.... I enjoy that feature

May already have been mentioned but there is a 'low battery' indicator. It is not a separate indicator but rather a second hand function. Like many analog solar watches, the second hand will 'skip' two seconds every two seconds, instead of once every second, indicating the battery is low .

Best watch company!

I bought one of these a couple years ago and I love it! The band does start to fray at the ends and sides but I just use a lighter to melt them back and it’s fine. I just don’t wear this one very much, I bought it because it’s similar to the older US military watches (Hamilton) which I also have in my collection. And men my age (mid 50’s) still prefer analogue face/movements and the larger hands make it easy to read the time in low light or if I’m not wearing my glasses. I’m a Retired Army Infantryman and I prefer a basic watch. Thanks for the lead on the watch band, looks great, I’ll get one for mine! My daily wear is a Casio PRG-600YB which has ABC features as well as being analogue.

watching this wearing my grandpas s100 that he gave me before he died, these watches are my favorite

I have this watch and love it. Such an underrated watch. I also swapped the band too for a silicone one. The only thing is that I wish the lume was a little better in dark conditions. It fades a little quicker than I’d like.

Yeah even with the strap and lume shortcomings... still an amazing watch. Wish they would make a second version with a decent strap, rotating bezel and yes... lume definetly needs to be taken up a notch. I really appreciate your subscription. Thank you.

I have a casio lineage with the same canvas strap and like it a lot. It is nylon so if there are little frayed bits you can easily burn them off.

It's in my rotation. I have about 5 watches that are my go to's, depending on what I'm wearing or what activities I'm doing I'll choose 1. This is definetly my favorite to wear when I'm in uniform (Army)

This watch is awesome. I love it. Super tough, better than Timex Expeditions Scouts, and a total field watch. It's on a dark brown leather strap though.

Thanks.....You gave me some important information.....Amazon showed that the watch's case dimension is 46.9mm. A few people that reviewed it on Amazon said that it was smaller, like 40 to 42mm........That is the size I prefer.. I also prefer a pass through, one piece band. I was also thinking about the Citizen eco-drive, but that one is only 37mm wide.

The strap is comfortable and looks good, but I had a serious issue with the quick release spring bars being too easy to get to. Twice in a week it literally fell off after detaching from getting caught on my 2 year olds clothes when I held her lol. Highly recommend the Ritche rubber straps.

Great watch. Not a fan of the ticking though. Wish the seconds hand would smoothly just sweep across.

Seems like most people change the straps on watches like this when they get em no matter the brand. I have a bunch of Seiko field watches and canvas straps feel rough at first. But after you wear for a few weeks they break in and seem to last a long time. All of mine are 5 years old and still look perfect. I bought this watch in Black and hopefully it'll last as long.

I own a solar watch. I never run out of charge. In just normal wear it seems to maintain a charge. I don't do anything scecial like leave it in the sun, just use it.

You are correct Sir! The solar batteries on Casios I've owned in the past have never run out on me. Even after months of just sitting on my watch stand with no use

I suspect that when you need to charge it the second hand will change from 1 beat per second to 1 beat every 2 seconds. I bet if you wear it 1 day every 3 months you'll never have a problem keeping I charged and that's if you keep it in complete darkness for those 3 months. How's the lume on it?

Hi. Interesting theory on the second hand doubling as a power indicator. I'm gonna keep an eye on that. The lume is definetly not great. I enjoy the watch but personally feel it is overpriced.

@@divadrestas that's what happens to Casio Edifice's when they are about out of juice even though they have a power indicator.

How’s the watch still holding up? I actually just ordered this one on Amazon for half off. I do like the green strap, but I can replace it if it really gets that bad. I really like the look of this watch. I’m glad I prefer it’s look because it’s rather affordable.

from what i know, if the second hand tick every 2 seconds instead of 1 second then it is an indicator that it need to recharge. hope that's help. are those bezel rotateable or fixed sir?

Hello! It been working performing perfectly to be honest. Exactly what you would expect from a Casio. I have a Solar Casio that stayed in a drawer for almost a year that never shut off and kept perfect time. I also have battery powered Casio's that I've owned for over 8 years and have yet to have to change the battery. Best watches out!

it is indeed surprising that there are no video reviews on youtube of this watch considering it's probably the most affordable decent solar classic watch.. there's also a pulsar that's a bit more affordable but the dial is pretty low quality and the solar cell behind it looks bad (on the puslar).. good video, but next time no more vertical video please... :)

Hi! Appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately the bezel does not rotate. It seems to meant for the 24 hour military style timekeeping format. The 3 hands have loom but it's not too strong. No light. No indiglo. The face doesn't even glow in the dark. You're SOL at night.

Watches should be worn on the wrist, not jammed between the joint of the wrist and hand.

I do what works for me🤷🏾‍♂️. Watches fit quite comfortably the way I use them.

Dude you need some practice. 42cm's ...?, thats almost half a meter (yard). Its 42 millimeter, thats 1/10th of a centimeter. And doing a review on you lap, in your car with your grannies tape mesurer, common.
